Job Description Under the supervision of the Director of Rehabilitation Services, the Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for providing speech therapy evaluations and treatments in accordance with the established hospital and departmental policies and procedures and under the guidelines of the board of professional regulations and the speech therapy practice act. M.A. or M.S Degree in Speech Language Pathology Graduated from an accredited school of Speech Therapy, Required licensures/certifications SLP Licensed in the State of Florida. Current BLS Skills and Abilities Excellent communication skills Experience Knowledge of the principles and applications of Speech Therapy evaluations and treatments. Capability to evaluate and assess the patient's condition. Knowledge of Infection Control, and Body Mechanics Techniques to be applied during patient care. One year experience or Speech Language Pathologist in their Clinical Fellowship Year will be considered.

Develops and maintains communication with other allied professionals. 8. Contains professional growth through a review of the literature, membership in professional organizations, attendance at professional meetings and participation at inservice programs. 9. Promotes the acceptance, support and utilization of speech/language/hearing services in the school and the community. 10. Meets and consults with parents, administrators and others to develop individual educational plans for students who are speech and/or language impaired. 11. Participates in transition planning. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS This is light work which includes the following physical activities: bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting, reaching, sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing and visual acuity.
