State-specific license or certification (as required).
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems.

All 50 U.S. states require Speech-LanguagePathologists to be licensed or certified to practice. General requirements include:
A master's degree in speech-language pathology.
Completion of a clinical fellowship (typically 9 months of supervised professional practice).
Passing the Praxis Exam in Speech-Language Pathology.
Completion of continuing education to maintain licensure.

The per diem PEDS Speech-LanguagePathologist at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California will evaluate and treats pediatric patients in accordance with the prescription of the physician. Provides patient care consistent with Scope of Practice Standards and Code of Ethics; the Plan for the Provision of Care to Patients, the Plan for Corporate Compliance, the Performance Improvement Plan and Patient Education Plan. Job Summary

Major Duties

This is a clinical track that entails work with adults, specifically the maternal/paternal caregiver of an infant. Students are placed in our Partnership For Families program. Students receive extensive training in understanding perinatal mood and anxiety disorders which impact our parents and caregivers who are either currently pregnant or up to a year post-partum. Job Summary
The Speech-Language Therapist (SLP) evaluates patients with communication disorders and swallowing deficits, plans and implements patient treatment, plans, and coordinates patient discharge, and prepares detailed progress reports and appropriate patient documentation. The SLP will also consult with the rehab team in order to coordinate the most effective speech therapy program.
Qualifications:
Licensed as a Speech-LanguagePathologist for the State of California.

The per diem PEDS Speech-LanguagePathologist at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California will evaluate and treats pediatric patients in accordance with the prescription of the physician. Provides patient care consistent with Scope of Practice Standards and Code of Ethics; the Plan for the Provision of Care to Patients, the Plan for Corporate Compliance, the Performance Improvement Plan and Patient Education Plan. Assists in the continuous quality improvement process and in the education and training of students and assists in divisional growth and cohesiveness to ensure a high quality of therapy care. Provides care while maintaining safety of the environment, utilizing appropriate communication with sensitivity and attention to special populations, including patients with diverse cultural backgrounds, age, developmental issues and physical disabilities.
The Therapist-Per Diem is considered employed on an at-will basis with no guarantee of scheduled hours. Scheduling is done based on staffing need and availability. The Therapist-Per Diem staff member is expected to be available a minimum of 16 hours per month.
Educational Requirements:
Master's Degree Graduate of an accredited SpeechLanguage Pathology program.

Pediatric augmentative communication experience required.
Experience with genetic disorders is preferred.
Engaging in or supporting novel outpatient programming for language and communication in the pediatric population
