Join WIHD's growing Speech Clinic and Assistive Technology Team! WIHD is currently seeking Full-Time and Part-Time SpeechLanguagePathologists (CCC-SLP) who will provide Speech services to individuals of all ages and disabilities through information and resources, evaluations, training, and therapeutic interventions. Our goal is to provide clinical services to optimize an individuals ability to communicate. Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC) experience is preferred but if you are will, WIHD will provide training in AAC.
This SLP position is in person at our outpatient clinic in Valhalla and in local schools. Full Time positions work 35 hours per week and receive 4 weeks vacation and part time positions can work 21-28 hours per week and will receive 3 weeks vacation. Salary is commensurate upon experience.
The responsibilities include performing diagnostic evaluations and managing a therapy caseload of a diverse population of children and adults with developmental disabilities who are diagnosed with communication disorders. Therapy is conducted via a hybrid model of teletherapy and in clinic sessions, school-based trainings, and home-based therapy.
Major Responsibilities Include:
Performs and documents evaluations, diagnoses and develop rehabilitation plans for patients with swallowing and/or dysphagia, cognitive linguist and communication disorders / impairments.Provision of SpeechLanguage/AAC diagnostic services, trainings, initial consultations, equipment demonstrations and technical support to people who use AAC, family members, service providers, and regional school districts, writing reports to justify devices Establishes and implements long-term and short-term therapy goals, treatment strategies and methods for groups and individuals to aid in the treatment/remediation of the impairment and measure progress.Counsels patients and members of patients families/caregivers regarding the patients disability, therapeutic approaches and class placement for school-age children.Provides clinical supervision, training and evaluation of professional staff, and graduate students in implementing program objectives.Research new devices and technology, therapeutic approaches and evaluation materials as well as referral services and funding sources.Consults with educators, physicians and other professionals in developing and implementing appropriate therapeutic approaches, intervention, and referral.Establishes and maintains professional contacts with outside agencies to further benefit the overall treatment of the patient.Maintaining daily, quarterly and evaluation / training report documentation and data as needed.
Education, Knowledge, and Skill Requirements:
Knowledge of:
Thorough knowledge of the principles, practices, and methods of speech-language pathology; thorough knowledge of the diagnostic tests and therapeutic equipment used in treating speech disorders; skill in the use of speech evaluation instrumentation.
Kind and Length of Experience:
Possession of a valid and current registration, issued by the New York State Education Department, in Speech-Language Pathology and possession of a Certificate of Clinical Competence issued by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association. At least 1 year experience in a clinic or hospital setting.
Education:

Speech language pathologist job in Monsey, NY
Kids First is a fast-growing therapy clinic serving clients in Monsey, NY and the surrounding areas. We are devoted to providing quality service to individuals and families. Our therapists help children and young adults with a variety of services including Speech & Language Pathology (SLP), Behavioral Therapy, including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), and Occupational Therapy.

SpeechLanguagePathologist job duties and responsibilities:
Assess, diagnose and treat communication disorders such as speech, fluency, language, voice and swallowing disorders.
Develop, plan and implement a treatment plan that will remedy the issue the patient is presenting with.
Create personalized care plans for each patient, often working with other medical staff on an interdisciplinary team.
Educate and counsel patients and families on communication and swallowing disorders.
Skills and qualifications:
• Technical knowledge of different speech and swallowing disorders and how to treat them.
• Technical knowledge of specialized equipment for testing and treating speech and swallowing disorders.
• Ability to create a patient-centered treatment plan that would fit into the patient's life and help improve their symptoms.
• Advanced communication skills, with the ability to explain speech and swallowing disorders to patients and their families.
Requirements:
Masters degree or higher in Speech and Language Pathology
Certificate of Clinical Competence in SLP (CCC-SLP) a plus.
NYS SLP License
Bilingual - English/Yiddish a plus
Evening/Sunday hours a plus.
Roles Available:
SLP on site in clinic.
SLP in school setting.
Clinical Fellowships (CFY), supervision provided
