Radius Rule: Contractors must live outside a 50 mile radius
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Shift Requirements : 12 hr Variables Day and Night week rotation
Float Requirements: will float between critical care units - possible float to lower acuity units based on census and need
On Call/Call Back Requirements: Can be low censused and put on call. Call back minimum is 2 hours
Weekend/Holiday Requirements: 2 out of 4 weekends, Every other holiday
Required Certifications: MN RN License, BLS (AHA/ARC) ACLS (BLS/ARC), NIHSS. TNCC and CCRN preferred certifications
Minimum Experience: 1 year minimal acute care experience preferably withing critical care. Preference to have Critical Care experience within the past 3 years. 1 travel assignment preferred
Charting Experience: Epic Preferred
Unit Information: Float pool requirement from Critical Care, Cardiac ICU and IMC units.
Primary experience:
Identifies patient condition; records and communicates deviations from normal. Posts pertinent health care team members. *. Identifies patient/family expectations and educational needs and communicates priorities. *Initiates discharge planning. * Incorporates information obtained and presented by others; ensures appropriate follow up. Skilled at assessment and knowledgeable of growth and development. Provides appropriate care respective to the ages of the patients served per clinical environment. *Oversees care of the stroke and/or cardiac patient, ensuring Core Measures are in place unless contraindicated, reporting patient concerns to the physician * Recognizes signs and symptoms of abuse and reports per policy. * Participates in purposeful nursing rounds according to patient need, incorporating the 7 Ps of rounding. * Recognizes and reports abnormal diagnostic data. * Chooses correct supplies in providing patient care and utilizes PAR system.

Summary:
This individual performs medical administration for patients of the Center of Alcohol and Drug Treatment. Oversee medical care of patients and promote optimal health and refer patients needing a higher level of care. Manage difficult patients and oversee LPNs and other support staff as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Obtain and accurately document a relevant health history from patients; perform a Comprehensive physical and mental health assessment.
Identify medical and mental health problems and develop/implement a plan of care to minimize complications and promote optimal health. Immediately refer patients needing a higher level of care to appropriate facilities.
Counsel patients and use the therapeutic relationship to promote health.
Teach/coach patients and family members to impart knowledge and associated skills.
Collaborate as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
Appropriately implement protocols and order. Review licensed practitioner orders, monitor documentation, and ensure enforcement of rules and regulations, including staffing requirements.
Monitor and ensure the quality of healthcare practices, including agency policies and procedures, documentation, and professional and licensing standards of care.
Provide and direct healthcare of patients, including supervision of the nursing care.
Review medication use and assure staff follows the medication control policies and procedures.
Assist the Licensed Practitioner with history and physicals.
Establish and implement procedures for the provision of nursing care and delegated medical care, including:
a health monitoring plan;
a medication control plan;
training and competency evaluations for staff performing delegated medical and nursing functions;
handling serious illness, accident, or injury to patients;
an infection control program; and
a first aid kit;
delegating nursing functions to other staff consistent with their education, competence, and legal authorization;
assigning, supervising, and evaluating the performance of nursing tasks; and
implementing condition-specific protocols in compliance with section 151.37, subdivision 2.
Qualifications:
This individual must have a certificate in nursing from a college or technical school.
Must be a current Registered Nurse certified by the Minnesota Board of Nursing
Must be CPR and First Aid certified or obtain it before direct patient contact.
Must pass background studies issued by the Minnesota Department of Human Services.
Must know and understand the requirements of 245F, sections 245A.65, 253B.04, 253B.051, 626.557, and 626.5572, and chapter 260E.
Hours:
This position is designated for the Evening/Overnight, 2nd shift 2:45pm-11:00pm and 3rd shift 10:45pm-7:00am with weekend rotation at 0.8 FTE.
