* We are guided by a set of values that are at the core of our actions and define our culture: Trust, Customer Obsession, Craftsmanship, Intensity, and Family. These values are the foundation of our work, and we are committed to upholding them in everything we do.
* Our co-founders are Bret Taylor and Clay Bavor. Bret currently serves as Board Chair of OpenAI. Previously, he was co-CEO of Salesforce (which had acquired the company he founded, Quip) and CTO of Facebook. Bret was also one of Google's earliest product managers and co-creator of Google Maps. Before founding Sierra, Clay spent 18 years at Google, where he most recently led Google Labs. Earlier, he started and led Google's AR/VR effort, Project Starline, and Google Lens. What you'll do
* Design and deliver production-grade AI agents: You'll build and ship highly performant, reliable, and intuitive AI agents that are central, mission-critical and drive revenue directly to Sierra's growth. These aren't prototypes-they are powerful, scalable systems running in production environments across industries like finance, healthcare, and commerce.
* Drive the Agent Development Life Cycle (ADLC): You'll have complete ownership and autonomy from initial pilot through deployment and continuous iteration. You'll be responsible for building, tuning, and evolving AI agents in production environments, defining the standard for ADLC best practices along the way.

* Build the future of the platform: Your direct work with customers will guide the evolution of Sierra's core platform. You'll surface unmet needs, prototype new tools and features, and collaborate with research, product, and platform to shape the future of AI agent development and Sierra's product.
Example projects
These are some examples of projects that engineers on our team have worked on recently:
* Design and build AI agents for large telecommunications and media companies that consistently outperform human agents in managing subscription churn

Role summary
We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer, Enterprise Systems to design, build, and lead the internal systems that power Mistral's growth. This is a highly impactful role at the intersection of engineering, finance, data, and operations.
As our first hire in Enterprise Systems, you will ship hands-on (Node/TypeScript + React or Python/FastAPI) while setting the technical direction, partnering with C-level stakeholders, and growing the team over time. You'll turn complex workflows into scalable software: integrations, connectors, and dashboards that make information flow across Mistral.
What you will do
* Own the platform from zero: design and implement integrations, connectors, and workflows across internal systems (CRM, billing, HRIS, planning tools).
* Lead the technical direction: define architecture, standards, and best practices for reliability, maintainability, and data consistency.
* Stay hands-on : build end-to-end web apps with a pragmatic approach to delivery and iteration.
* Stakeholder leadership: partner directly with CFO, CTO and team leads to gather requirements, prioritize, and translate business needs into software.
* Enable the org: deliver sleek, self-service tooling and dashboards that reduce manual work and accelerate decision-making across teams.
* Lay the foundations to scale: help shape the hiring plan, mentor future teammates, and evolve into the team's Tech Lead as we grow.
About you
* Full-stack engineer with strong experience in TypeScript/Node + React or Python (FastAPI) + React/TS; comfortable building web apps end-to-end.
* Track record shipping internal systems (APIs, integrations, connectors, dashboards) in enterprise-like environments (banking/insurance/industry/consulting).
* Hands-on and technically strong, with excellent judgment around trade-offs, maintainability, and operational reliability.
* Leadership mindset: you've led initiatives or mentored engineers (formal or informal) and enjoy setting standards for others.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management; you like turning ambiguous problems into a clear plan and shipped software.
* Low-ego, team-spirited, autonomous; motivated by enabling others and improving how an organization operates.
Nice to have
* Experience with LLMs / agentic workflows.
* Exposure to market-leading SaaS business systems (Salesforce, Atlassian, Oracle, etc.).
* Familiarity with infra & operations (Docker, CI/CD, K8s…).
* Comfortable working closely with internal stakeholders, including C-levels.
Hiring Process
* Introduction call - 30 min
* Hiring Manager interview - 30 min
* Technical Rounds
* Live Coding Interview (TypeScript or Python) - 45 min
* System Design Interview - 45 min
* Optional: Project Deep Dive - 60 min
* Culture-fit discussion - 30 min

Location & Remote
The position is based in our Paris HQ offices and we encourage going to the office as much as we can (at least 3 days per week) to create bonds and smooth communication. Our remote policy aims to provide flexibility, improve work-life balance and increase productivity. Each manager can decide the amount of days worked remotely based on autonomy and a specific context (e.g. more flexibility can occur during summer). In any case, employees are expected to maintain regular communication with their teams and be available during core working hours.
What we offer
Competitive salary and equity package
️ Health insurance
Transportation allowance
Sport allowance
Meal vouchers
Private pension plan
Generous parental leave policy
