This position will have a split schedule between our Rye, NY and Greenwich, CT clinics (only 10 minutes apart). Reimbursement will be provided to obtain a Connecticut Radiology License if individual is not actively licensed in both states.
Under the direction of the Chief Technologist or his/her designee, the Radiologic Technologist performs radiographic examinations at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgement, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for imaging diagnosis. Position Summary:
The Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for assisting physician, PA or NP with clerical duties, patient flow, patient care and procedures.
Essential Job Functions:
Prepares the examination room. Escorts patient into the room. Cleans examination room when exam is complete.
Maintains efficient patient flow.
Ensures proper preparation for patient visit. Prepares pertinent information needed for patient visit.
Communicates & provides care consistent with age, cultural, spiritual and developmental needs of the patient.
Answers the telephone in an appropriate manner. Directs calls and/or takes accurate messages.
Schedules appointments accurately and appropriately according to departmental guidelines.

Obtains vital signs: BP, temp, pulse, height & weight accurately and completely as required. Documents appropriately in EHR.

Processes Stat specimens according to SMG SOP.

Processes satellite specimens and delivers them to the appropriate department.
Monitors inventory levels and follows appropriate protocol for replenishing supplies in phlebotomy room and storage area.
Deletes/cancels orders as necessary with full documentation of reason. Ensures proper patient charge deletion according to departmental policy.
Recalls patients for follow-up procedures or error correction as required. Documents callbacks in the lab logbook.
Utilizes LIS for all applicable functions to perform job duties, including downtime procedures.

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities:
Radiologic technologists must follow physicians' orders precisely and conform to regulations concerning the use of radiation to protect themselves, their patients, and their coworkers from unnecessary exposure.
Help patients transfer to the detector or exam table and ensuring adequate patient immobilization to perform radiologic exam.
Verify proper patient identification on the study and route it PACS. Send required information to Virtual Radiologic when indicated.
Place demographic information in the reading room for interpretation.
Maintains a daily log of patients seen.
Operate radiologic or fluoroscopy (c-arm) equipment for diagnostic quality imaging.
Obtains essential information from patients, medical records, and previous scans for clinical correlation.
Monitor patient reaction to treatment and changes in physical or mental status, reporting change to the appropriate person.
Prepare and assist patients for radiologic procedures as requested by a physician. Provide patient care with dignity and respect for the individual. Educate patients about the procedures to be performed. Obtain optimum quality images through employment of proper anatomical positioning, radiologic techniques and other required techniques in accordance with the protocols designed by the radiologists.
Observe and follow safety procedures to include radiation protection and universal precautions.

* Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images
* Ensure proper garments are worn by patients during examination and assist patient in assuming physical position for examination, and ensure patient has an understanding of procedure
* Maintain and ensure accurate acquisition and documentation of images and patient data.
* Prepares preliminary reports and contacts referring physicians when required, according to established procedures
* Uphold high standards of medical ethics and patient confidentiality.
* Participate in quality assessment (QA) activities to improve imaging practices and outcomes.
* Stay current with advancements in sonography, emerging diseases, and evolving procedures.
* Demonstrate self-motivation in continuing education and professional development.
* Operate, maintain and clean equipment as directed by suggested manufacturer guidelines. Report any equipment difficulties or failures to administration as soon as possible.
* Identify and communicate any equipment malfunctions or quality issues, ensuring timely resolution.
* Ensure the proper operation of Ultrasound Testing, IAC vascular accredited protocols, adherence to protocols, standards and daily operations.
* Ensure patient safety by following company procedures and protocol.

Technical Oversight & Quality Assurance
* Provides technical leadership for the ultrasound team, ensuring adherence to all clinical, operational, and regulatory standards.
* Oversees the implementation and maintenance of high-quality imaging protocols, including equipment optimization, image acquisition standards, and exam workflow efficiency.
* Collaborates with physicians, clinical leadership, and the Technical Director to monitor image quality, troubleshoot technical issues, and maintain consistency across all ultrasound modalities.
* Participates in quality improvement initiatives, including peer review, protocol updates, and continuing education recommendations.
* Ensures the department remains compliant with accreditation standards (e.g., IAC, AIUM) and assists with required documentation, audits, and process updates.
* Serves as a technical resource and mentor for staff sonographers, providing guidance, training, and support in complex cases.
* Works with leadership on evaluating new equipment, technologies, and procedural enhancements to support clinical excellence.
Qualifications and Requirements:
* Candidate must hold active RDCS or CCI upon hire. Must be willing to obtain RVT within 6 months of hire.
* Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiovascular Technology program (preferred)
* Completion of an AMA approved radiologic technology program or equivalent (if applicable)
* Current BLS / CPR certification
* Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, pathology, and Doppler principles
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and patient care skills
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
* Ability to adapt in emergency or highpressure situations
* Familiarity with departmental and institutional procedures, compliance, and safety protocols
* Physically capable of heavy lifting (up to 100 lbs.), frequent lifting (50 lbs +), standing, stooping, and walking without restrictions
Preferred / Desirable Attributes
* 1+ year of prior experience in cardiac/vascular sonography
* Experience with PACS, EMR systems, echo/vascular ultrasound devices
* Experience in a clinical or hospital environment
* Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and professional growth
Pay Range: $42.12 - $52.69 Hourly

Essential Job functions:
* Uses appropriate aseptic technique to draw blood cultures.
* Processes Stat specimens according to SMG SOP.
* Prepares collection containers with appropriate preservatives for patients and gives instructions for proper collection of specimens at home (Urine & Stool). Properly measures and records a volume for a 24-hr collection.
* Properly collects a COC Urine Drug Screen.
* Properly administers and collects a H. pylori Breath test.
* Properly handles orders on minors.
* Uses the correct procedure for completing paperwork and labeling of specimen for OVH Blood Bank specimens.
* Processes satellite specimens and delivers them to the appropriate department.
* Monitors inventory levels and follows appropriate protocol for replenishing supplies in phlebotomy room and storage area.
* Deletes/cancels orders as necessary with full documentation of reason. Ensures proper patient charge deletion according to departmental policy.
* Recalls patients for follow-up procedures or error correction as required. Documents callbacks in the lab logbook.
* Utilizes LIS for all applicable functions to perform job duties, including downtime procedures.
* Adapts work schedule to meet emergency staffing needs.
* Required Competencies:
* Demonstrates competency in all areas of adult phlebotomy*
* Demonstrates competency in all areas of pediatric phlebotomy*
