Position Summary:
The SurgicalTechnician demonstrates basic knowledge and skills in the scrub role, necessary to provide assistance during surgical procedures.
The SurgicalTechnician is responsible for aseptic technique, setting up the required equipment, instrumentation and sterile supplies as needed for their assigned cases; scrubbing and passing instruments and equipment during surgical procedures; pulling cases as needed, breaking down cases at the end of the procedure, sets up operating room and supplies needed for day/following day's schedule. Available for call on an assigned scheduled basis as required by unit need. When need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education and Experience Requirements for a Surgical Tech
* High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program (*see substitution below).

Certified Dermatology Technician (CDT), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent amount of education and experience required.
Two years of experience in an outpatient surgery center, Mohs dermatology practice, or office-based surgery department preferred.
BLS certification required.
Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities:
Infectious control, HIPAA, and OSHA knowledge is preferred.
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills required to communicate with patients, family members, physicians, and other health care providers, as well as other colleagues in a positive, professional manner.
Possesses and displays knowledge of medical terminology.
Must possess strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills to ensure patient's needs are met.
Must possess excellent computer skills to input and retrieve clinical information.
Utilize critical thinking and good judgment in performance of tasks.
Must possess organizational skills and can multitask.
Must be able to prioritize daily assignment to ensure smooth workflow.
The salary for this role will range from USD $24.50 to 36.75 per hour based on full-time employment. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to location, relevant skills, training, education, etc. Certain roles may be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation and/or long-term incentives.
