As a Digital Asset Librarian on the Brand Operations AI Transformation team, you'll be responsible for organizing, cataloging and managing a portion of Brand's digital assets including those generated by AI to ensure accuracy, compliance and accessibility, as well as working cross-functionally with creative, marketing, project management and tech teams. Your work will help the Brand team continue delivering engaging, brand-aligned creative to millions of customers, ensuring that our digital files including images, templates and other creative assets are properly tagged, organized and accessible across teams. You'll also work with creative technologists and other tech partners to find ways to automate processes and actions within the libraries you manage. Job responsibilities: * Develop and implement strategies for organizing, cataloging, tagging and classifying digital assets for easy search and retrieval, using AI tools to automate (e.g., auto-tagging). * Maintain and evolve metadata schema and taxonomy standards to ensure consistency and discoverability. * Enforce usage rights, copyright, licensing and brand standards; ensure compliance with legal and company policies. * Manage user permissions, access levels, and support IT in system maintenance, security, and troubleshooting. * Create and document workflows for asset ingestion, approval, archiving and distribution. * Work closely with internal teams to clarify asset needs, resolve metadata gaps and support requests for asset retrieval and usage. * Conduct regular audits to remove duplicates, archive outdated content and improve system performance and user experience. * Develop and deliver training, onboarding and documentation for DAM users; serve as a DAM champion within Brand and Marketing. * Monitor system usage, generate reports, gather user feedback and recommend improvements to enhance usability and search functionality. * Communicate updates, new content, and system changes to stakeholders; participate in governance meetings to align processes and policies. Required qualifications, capabilities and skills: * Proficient with digital asset management (DAM) systems (AEM, Frame.io) and related software (e.g., Adobe Express, etc.), or the ability to learn and master quickly. * Working knowledge of copyright, licensing and digital rights management, or the ability to learn and master quickly. * Some experience with asset lifecycle management, rights management and digital archiving best practices. * Working understanding of metadata, taxonomy, cataloging and information architecture required. * Familiarity with a wide range of digital file formats (images, video, web, social, etc.) and their use in creative workflows. * Drive to proactively stay informed about emerging trends in AI and digital asset management. * Excellent attention to detail, as well as organizational, documentation and project management skills. * Strong communication, training and collaboration skills; ability to work cross-functionally. * Analytical, process-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving abilities * Able to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment. When this position is within the Mobiles Services department work performed on vehicles (e.g., bookmobiles) is done in close quarters that, at times, may be in motion as teams travel from stop to stop. Maintains regular updates to the library's social media sites. OhioLINK Assures seamless processing of incoming and outgoing OhioLINK items. Supervises student workers in the processing OhioLINK items. In the absence of student workers, the Public Services Librarian processes OhioLINK items. Guides and assists student workers in the planning, strategizing, and assessment of OhioLINK processing, statistics, label creation, supply use, and potential issues. Reference Services Assists patrons with research needs, remotely (via phone, chat, and e-mail) and in-person. Conducts in-depth research appointments with patrons. Stays abreast of reference assignment alerts. Works on reference projects, such as constructing and editing research guides and tutorials. Spangler Learning Center Building Collaborates with Spangler Learning Center building staff to ensure its efficient operation. Follows pre-determined procedures for opening and/or closing Spangler Learning Center. Monitors the behavior of patrons utilizing the building to prevent theft and/or destruction of materials and equipment. Works with ODU Public Safety when there is a safety concern, building issue, emergency, or patrons that need assistance (escorts, lost and found, etc.). Other duties as assigned. Qualifications A Master's degree in Library & Information Science from an ALA-accredited institution. Experience with library systems and general computer software, such as MS Office. Experience assisting patrons with research using online catalogs, the internet, and research databases. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and administrators. Ability to work as a team member to establish agreed upon goals and to share a common purpose that is service oriented. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong organizational skills. Willingness to work in a changing environment to meet the needs of library patrons. Physical Demands Routine physical demands for an office environment. Frequent standing or walking. Sitting at a desk or in meetings for extended periods of time. Ability to lift/move up to 25lbs. It involves providing courteous and reliable customer service to patrons while upholding the core values and mission of the Library. The role includes recommending improvements within areas of responsibility, keeping the manager informed of ongoing projects and progress, and maintaining effective communication with both the manager and fellow staff. Additionally, the position promotes collaboration and strong communication across departments to help achieve Library-wide goals and may include participation in cross-functional Library teams. Administrative & Operational Support Maintains paper and digital records/files for respective areas. Required Skills & Abilities: Ability to operate computer and web applications, departmental technology, and the Library's automation and email systems. Ability to provide consistently high-quality customer service. Knowledge of youth library services, youth literature, and popular youth materials. Ability to relate to children and teens with an understanding of their developmental needs. Ability to tactfully and effectively work with and to design age-appropriate programs for preschool, school-age, and teen patrons and their parents and caregivers. Ability to maintain confidentiality and use appropriate judgement in handling information and records. Ability to resolve complex problems. Consistently maintains and displays a positive attitude. Must be able to work nights and weekends. Qualifications: Master's in Library Science or Library Information Sciences from an ALA accredited school is required . 2 - 3 years' experience in a public library youth services department environment is preferred. Physical Requirements: Ability to regularly lift up to 30 pounds. Ability to reach overhead and stoop to floor level. Operate standard business office equipment. Travel is required frequently to visit local schools and community events, off-site training sessions and/or meetings.
