The Cable Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting structured cabling systems to support voice, data, video, and network communications. This role ensures all cabling infrastructure is installed to industry standards, project specifications, and customer requirements while maintaining safety and quality at all times. Key Responsibilities Installation & Cabling Work Install, terminate, and test copper (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A) and fiber optic cabling systems. Pull, label, route, and dress cables in commercial, industrial, and data center environments. Install cable trays, J-hooks, ladder racks, racks, patch panels, and related infrastructure hardware. Perform fiber splicing, connector installation, and end-to-end certification. Install network equipment including switches, wireless access points, and telecom room hardware as directed. Experience with cable testing equipment (Fluke DSX, OTDR, light meters). Familiarity with LOTO, ladder safety, PPE, confined spaces, and general construction safety.
