Job Summary: The Fiber Splicing Technician splices, tests, troubleshoots, and repairs fiber optic cables. Job Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to): * End-of-Line Network Testing: Testing light levels at the end of fiber networks for balanced signal between points is crucial to ensure proper signal transmission and network performance. * Cable Prep: Ensure that cables are properly labeled and organized to minimize errors during installation. * Build Fiber Cases and Enclosures: Constructing fiber cases and enclosures involves creating protective housings for fiber optic equipment and connections. * Splice Color for Color Fibers: When splicing fiber optic cables together, technicians match the colors of the fibers to ensure that the correct fibers are connected. * Cable Management: Organize the cables neatly within the enclosure, ensuring that they are properly routed and secured to prevent tangling or damage. * Sealing and Placement of Case: Ensuring that the enclosure is properly closed and secured to protect the equipment and cables inside from environmental elements. * Read Prints and Maps: Examine Splice Matrix and redline maps to understand fiber routes and assignments. * Splice off color and multiple cables in one enclosure. * Jumping Trays: Routing fibers from one tray to another, possibly to optimize cable management, minimize signal loss, or create efficient pathways within the enclosure. * Splice Tie Point and Jumper Cases: Splicing fibers at a tie point involves connecting fibers from different cables. * Connect Jumper cables between jumper cases. * Rehab gel-filles cases: The process of refurbishing or rehabilitating gel-filled enclosures used in fiber optic networks. * Redlining and Documentation: Marking up or annotating existing drawings or documents with changes, updates, or corrections. * Case swaps and audits: Replacing one equipment case or enclosure with another. * Troubleshooting: Identifying, diagnosing, and resolving issues that can affect the performance and reliability of the network. * May pull cable through existing duct package, pull cable through conduit either manually, blowing, or mechanically, and splice and activate underground and aerial lines. * Other duties as assigned. Hours: Tuesday - Saturday; 7am - 3pm ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS * Performs landscaping duties to include, mowing, trimming, edging, weed eating, fertilizing, and spraying of recreation facilities. * Performs daily, seasonal, and annual maintenance and upkeep of parks and playground facilities. * Ensures that all playground equipment is kept up to NRPA guidelines and performs a monthly inspection. * Performs daily tests to ensure DHEC standards are met for the Splash Pad at Central Creek Park. * Performs maintenance duties to include electrical, plumbing, painting, and carpentry work. * Operates heavy equipment. * Repairs sprinkler systems. * Performs preventive maintenance functions as directed. * Observes all safety practices and maintains a safe work area. * Serves as back up to co-workers. * Performs other duties as assigned. The E&I Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and instrumentation systems that support industrial operations. This role ensures reliable and safe operation of electrical circuits, process instruments, control systems, and related equipment to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency. Key Responsibilities Install, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and instrumentation systems, including motors, sensors, transmitters, control valves, and PLCs. Read and interpret electrical schematics, loop drawings, P&IDs, and technical manuals. Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical and control systems. Troubleshoot and repair low- and medium-voltage electrical circuits, motor control centers, and process control wiring. Maintain, test, and calibrate process instruments measuring temperature, pressure, flow, level, and analytical parameters. Support system upgrades and modifications to improve reliability and process control. Ensure all electrical work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable safety regulations. Use diagnostic tools such as multimeters, megohm meters, calibrators, and loop simulators. Document work performed, equipment changes, and calibration data accurately. Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to identify and correct equipment issues.
