Duties and Responsibilities
The TEAP Specialist is responsible for the designs, develops, and implements all programs related to substance use and abuse prevention and intervention in conjunction with the Mental Health Consultant and Health Services staff, center physician and Center Director.
The TEAP Specialist coordinates all programs designed to reduce and eliminate substance use and abuse and in compliance with the Department of Labor/Job Corps guidelines.
Conducts in-service training sessions with both staff and students in all areas related to substance use and abuse.
Submits recommendations to the Center Director for medical terminations related to substance misuse and abuse in conjunction with the Mental Health Consultant, center physician, Health and Wellness Manager (RN), etc.
Monitors behavior and progress of students involved in the Alcohol and Other Drugs of Abuse Prevention/Intervention Program.

Qualifications

· Formulates a teaching plan based on identified learning needs of a patient and evaluates effectiveness of learning, patient's family is included in teaching as appropriate.
· Demonstrates ability to assess patient, his/her need, and ability to tolerate treatment and reassessment for response to treatment.
