BEHAVIORAL HEALTH PROGRAM
NWRC identified a need for the aging population to receive behavioral health services within the comfort of their home and responded to the need by establishing the program in 2018. The behavioral health program remains the only one of its kind among Washington States Area Agencies on Aging and has grown from 3 clinicians to 10. The program continues to evolve rapidly, most recently offering substance use therapy. As a fee for service position, this role requires 50% of time worked to be billable, which is the approximate equivalent to 4 clients per day in an 8 hour day, subject to individualized schedules, drive time to clients, telehealth usage, and other relevant factors.
A DAY IN THE LIFE
Behavioral Health Clinicians provide assessments and ongoing individual counseling for adults, including elders and people with disabilities, in-person in their homes or place of residence, as well as via telehealth. Services delivered are strengths-based and include, but are not limited to individual psychotherapy, treatment planning, identification and development of natural supports, advocacy, and collaboration with other supports.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
10-Step pay range based upon licensure:
Associate or Affiliate Licensure $33.87- $44.20 hourly
Independent Licensure or Masters level SUDP $35.27- $46.02 hourly
NWRC salary ranges are comprised of a 10-Step scale. On their employment anniversary, employees are eligible for an annual pay increase to the next step in the associated salary range, subject to satisfactory performance. In addition to the annual pay increases, NWRC assesses cost of living adjustments (COLA) on an annual basis, subject to Governing Board approval. New employees at NWRC usually start at the first step in the positions assigned salary range. SCHEDULE & LOCATION

QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
Master's Degree in Behavioral or Health Sciences or related field.
Two years of experience providing direct human services to clients, preferably in a community setting
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to assess client needs with consideration of the values of diverse groups: understand social and cultural contexts of the clients, understand the role of historical and personal trauma, community, family and personal experience in wellness and recovery.

Brigid Collins Family Support Center partners with families to support the safety, healing, and well-being of children through compassionate, relationship-based, and community-centered services.
The Community Navigator is amasters-level mental health practitioner who serves as the primary point of contact for children referred to mental health services by primary care physicians. This role provides evidence-based screening and assessment, brief clinical consultation and recommendations, and family-centered navigation support, including warm handoffs and referrals, to connect children and caregivers toappropriate behavioralhealth and community-based services.
What Youll Do
Serve as the primary liaison for behavioral health referrals from primary care providers and clinic teams
Receive, triage, and coordinate referrals; gather relevant clinical and psychosocial information from families and care teams
Conduct evidence-based screenings and assessments to identify symptoms, strengths, risk factors, and level of need
Provide clear clinical impressions and recommendations aligned with best practices and family preferences
Offer brief consultation, coaching, and psychoeducation to caregivers around child mental health concerns and next steps
Partner with families using a strengths-based, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive approach to reduce barriers to care
Facilitate warm handoffs and referrals to outpatient therapy, psychiatry, school-based supports, community agencies, and crisis services
Track referral progress and ensure closed-loop communication with referring providers
Collaborate closely with medical providers, clinic staff, and community partners to coordinate care and improve access
Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation in accordance with organizational and regulatory requirements
May carry a partial caseload
Other relevant duties as assigned

The counselor, using evidenced based counseling methods, provides counseling and crisis intervention services to children and adolescents while incorporating caregiver/family support as appropriate, in accordance with all applicable federal and local laws and regulations, and with Behavioral Health policies and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Schedules, coordinates and manages an ongoing caseload of 30-35 clients.
• Provides individual, couple, family and group counseling, intake and assessment, diagnosis, crisis intervention, drop-in, and follow up services.
• Provides tools in regulating emotions, relationship building, social emotional skills and executive function development.
• Participates in staff meetings, consultations, case presentations, and training programs.
• Maintains client progress, and provides outreach and advocacy to help people attain their highest degree of health and independence.
• Provides ongoing outreach to children, youth, parents, schools and communities to ensure awareness of community needs and service availability.
• Develops and maintains positive relations with community referral sources.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Child Mental Health Specialist designation strongly preferred
• Knowledge of treatment approaches for individuals with special needs, neurodiversity, and family counseling and support, crisis intervention and brief therapy.
• Knowledge of group process.
• Ability to develop and monitor goal-directed treatment relationships.
• Ability to develop community resources and market services.
• Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
• Ability to read, write and speak in English.
• Must demonstrate sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural differences.
• Experience working in Tribal communities preferred.
Position Qualifications
• Master's Degree in Social Services field or related field (Psychology, Mental Health Counseling).
• Washington State Counselor's license (LMHC, LICSW, LMFT).
Associate license clinicians will be considered based on experience
• Experience working with neuro-diverse children and youth.
• Experience in working with children and families.
• Experience in leading groups, trainings and workshops.
• Experience working with diversified, ethnic/cultural populations in social services.
• Ability to pass criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.
• WA state Driver's license and ability to be approved by Tribal insurance to drive Tribal vehicles.
• Must keep up to date certification CEU's to provide services to clients.
