You will need to identify swimmers in distress and respond promptly, reporting any rescues, accidents, or incidents to your supervisor while calling for additional help when necessary. Your duties will also include administering first aid and CPR to injured patrons, enforcing the Bureau of State Parks' swimming regulations, and providing guidance on park rules. Regular inspections of safety equipment, such as buoys and first aid supplies, are required to ensure they are in good condition, along with assessing the swimming area for any hazards. Additionally, you will prepare and submit reports detailing swimming conditions and incidents, completing necessary documentation like daily logs and water quality forms, and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the DCNR Lifeguard Manual.
