Street Lighting Maintenance: Perform troubleshooting and repairs on roadway and decorative street lighting systems, including lamp replacement, ballast testing, photocell replacements, and circuit diagnostics. Troubleshooting Electrical Issues: Diagnose electrical and electronic malfunctions in traffic control devices, wiring systems, and control cabinets using multimeters, loop testers, and other diagnostic tools. Ensure all equipment functions properly and safely. Wiring and Electrical Work: Oversee and assist in the wiring and rewiring of signalized intersections, street lights, and control cabinets. This includes interpreting electrical schematics and ensuring compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and IMSA practices. Preventive Maintenance: Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance on traffic signals and lighting systems, including cleaning, inspecting, and testing components to ensure continued operation and minimize system downtime. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, work orders, and materials used. Prepare detailed reports of incidents, system failures, and resolutions. Document field changes to as-built diagrams. Coordination and Communication: Coordinate with municipalities, utility companies, and contractors during construction, upgrades, and emergency repairs. Communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and the public regarding project status and traffic impacts. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to company and industry safety standards, including work zone traffic control procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) use. Identify and report safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to the General Foreperson. Vehicle and Equipment Oversight: Ensure proper maintenance and readiness of assigned vehicles and equipment. Report mechanical issues or needed repairs to the General Foreperson promptly. Emergency Response: Respond to emergency signal outages or knockdowns after hours, as required. Perform temporary repairs and restore safe traffic operation until permanent repairs can be completed. Training and Development: Maintain IMSA certifications and participate in ongoing training to stay current with advancements in traffic control technology and electrical codes. Minimum Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older. Ability to work in a bucket or platform truck/device (L1-L3). Able to read blueprints/plans and construct as per plans (L2-L3). Able to direct and oversee Traffic Signal Laborers. (L2-L3). Able to operate various equipment in order to install signal items (Bucket Truck, Digger Derrick/Boom Trk, etc) (L2-L3). Able to work long hours and overtime during holidays, emergencies, weekends, etc. Subject to call-out work. (ALL LEVELS). Must be willing to obtain a Class "A" or "B" driver's license (CDL) within 120 days of hire. Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred. IMSA preferred.
