Primary Duties
Math Center tutors assist with answering students' math questions on a drop-in basis. Students who visit the Math Center may be enrolled in classes that range from Introductory Algebra to Differential Equations, with the majority of students being in College Algebra.
List of Job Duties:
* Ensure students sign in and sign out to help keep track of traffic in the Math Center at different times and days throughout the semester
* Work alongside another instructor and/or student hourly to answer students' math questions from a wide range of courses
* Submit bi-weekly timesheets to report hours worked in the Math Center, as well as leave requests for any absences that occur
Required Competencies
Math Center Student Hourlies should have a strong understanding and fluency of mathematics and its notation, ranging from basic math to Calculus. They should also have the desire and ability to patiently communicate math concepts to others, including those who struggle to learn math.

* Must be a FRCC student enrolled in at least 6 credits for the current semester

* Assists the teacher, working with specific groups, assisting with computers, language arts, mathematics, Homework Club.
* Assist with supervision at lunch time and recess.
* Other duties as assigned by the teacher.
Qualifications:
Required:
* High School diploma or equivalent.
* Communicate (read, write, and speak) in English, must pass English component of interview process.
* Completed and submitted BVSD online application.
Preferred:
* Minimum two years college, Bachelors Degree preferred.
* Experience in education/tutoring/mentoring of children/young adults (ages 5-12).
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, school staff and administrators.
* Experience in working with children in a Core Knowledge setting.
* Positive communication, interaction, and work experience with diverse people.
