Essential Functions Greet patients and provide clear instructions regarding ultrasound procedures Schedule and coordinate patient exams efficiently and accurately Perform a variety of ultrasound exams, including but not limited to: abdominal, vascular, small parts, OB/GYN, infant head/hip/spine, breast imaging, and interventional procedures. Demonstrate proficiency in all breast imaging procedures, including breast interventional techniques. Use cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adjust procedures based on anatomical, pathological, and diagnostic findings. Exercise independent judgment to accurately differentiate between normal and pathological conditions. Review and evaluate sonographic images for technical quality and diagnostic acceptability. Maintain ultrasound equipment, ensure cleanliness of the work area, and monitor supply inventory. Provide compassionate care for the psychological and physical needs of patients and their families. Maintain current job-related competencies and certifications as required Education High school diploma or equivalent required Graduate of an accredited formal diagnostic medical sonography program Experience Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a diagnostic medical sonographer required Experience with breast imaging and interventional ultrasound preferred Certifications ARDMS certification in Abdominal Ultrasound (Required) Vascular certification (RVT) preferred but not required Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification Must maintain compliance with Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements as applicable Knowledge and Skills Proficient in a wide range of ultrasound procedures and protocols Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and ultrasound pathology Skilled in equipment operation, quality assurance, and troubleshooting Familiar with safety protocols and standards in a radiology environment Experience with breast interventional procedures Knowledge of PACS and ability to process and submit images for interpretation Ability to respond calmly and effectively in medical emergencies, including AED and crash cart usage Excellent communication and documentation skills Strong patient care and customer service abilities Abilities Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a clinical environment Effective verbal and written communication skills Ability to clearly explain procedures to patients Adaptable to new technologies and fast-paced settings Professional, compassionate, and detail-oriented approach Work Schedule Day shifts (Monday-Friday) Onsite at our Port Orange, FL location Occasional schedule flexibility may be required Additional Information Radiology Associates is an Equal Opportunity Employer and complies with all applicable federal, state, and local anti-discrimination laws.
