Conducts actual test procedure; moves transducer by hand over specified area of body and observes sound wave display screen to monitor quality of ultrasound image produced. Records diagnostic data on magnetic tape, computer disk, strip printout, or film. Produces a permanent record of test results. Recognizes test results which may constitute critical clinical situations and notifies physician immediately as per facility protocol.
