JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Radiology Medical Director, the Sonographer:
Performs sonographic procedures at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed independent practitioner.
Ensures services are performed in a safe environment in accordance with established guidelines and regulatory requirements.
Serves as part of the imaging center team and seeks as well as provides feedback for improved clinical practice.
Requirements
EXPERIENCE:
Up to 5 years experience as a licensed Sonographer.
EDUCATION:

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Must be registered or registry eligible through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (RDMS) or ARRT (S). RVT certification required within one year of hire, in addition to one of the following: OB, Abdominal or General. Additionally, must meet the state licensure requirement for the state in which they practice. BLS certification required within 60 days of hire.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Skill in operation of Sonography equipment as well as applicable ancillary equipment.
Ability to work independently and multitask.
Ability to provide documentation accurately and concisely.
Demonstrates understanding of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, radiopharmacology, and medical terminology.

Essential Functions

Scanning experience in General, Vascular, and Breast is required for this position.

The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for but not limited to:
Performing all requested ultrasonographic exams in accordance with established policy and as per established hours of availability;

Ensures that the ultrasound equipment is in excellent operational condition as per established Quality Control procedures; and

This full time, 40 hour per week position will provide coverage in the AMI offices in Hammonton, Mays Landing, Vineland, and Sicklerville.
Potential schedules include:
Five (5) days with eight (8) hour shifts (8am-4:30pm and one evening shift of 11:30am-8pm)
Four (4) days with two (2) 11.5 or 12.5 hour shifts (6:45am-7:30pm, 7:30am-7:30pm, and 8am-8pm) and two (2) 8.5-10 hour shifts (6:45am-5pm, 7am-5pm, and 8am-5pm)
Saturday shifts vary based on office location and include 8am-12pm, 8am-2pm, and 8am-5pm.

Qualifications
Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program.
Certified by ARDMS in Abdomen or OBGYN or ARRT RT(S) with RVT/ RVS preferred.
Minimum of 2-3 years work experience as Ultrasound Technologist who can perform all aspects of Sonography with expertise in General, Breast, Vascular, small parts and procedures.
Knowledge of all Ultrasound procedures including, but not limited to, Venous Insufficiencies, Arterial Duplex (Upper/Lower Exts), PVR/Segmental/ABI (Upper/Lower Exts), Pre-op Vein Mapping (Upper/Lower Exts), Dialysis access evaluation and Abdominal duplex exams.

Essential Functions:
* As part of a multidisciplinary team, the Perinatal Sonographer, guided by established AIUM and department protocols, clinical assessment and patient's medical history, obtains high quality comprehensive imaging studies and effectively communicates findings to the Maternal Fetal Medicine Physician.
* Able to identify normal from abnormal ultrasound images and holds knowledge of various fetal anomalies including CDH, CPAM, TTTS, CHD, gastroschisis, etc.
* Perform ultrasound guidance for minor invasive procedures including amniocentesis, CVS, vesicocentesis, thoracentesis, fetal fluid drainage, etc.
* Demonstrate proficient skills in 2D, 3D, Doppler and Color Doppler imaging.
* Proficient operation of ultrasound equipment using correct parameters based on gestational age and diagnosis.
* Demonstrate proficient skills in advanced 3D imaging and rendering.
* Calculate measurements, formulas and ratios with correct annotations and enter into PACS reporting system.
* Provide outstanding patient care with consideration of diagnosis and psychosocial support.

Successful completion of the physics and technology exams from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), or registry eligible. If registry eligible, registration must be obtained within one year of hire.
American Heart BLS certification, required.
Registered ARDMS (PE) or CCI required.
Registered ARDMS (FE) preferred.
Must be available to travel to satellite locations bases on patient need.

Requirements:
· 2 years of experience as a Sonographer
· Qualified applicants MUST have at least 2 years of experience in the Ultrasound
· Valid Sonographer license
· Be willing to obtain New Jersey licensure
