Our Radiology physicians and Radiologic technologists provide expert imaging services at all three hospital campuses and several community locations. We are proud to be a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, and a nationally accredited CT and Ultrasound service. The Ultrasound Technologist will perform general abdominal, obstetrical and small parts ultrasound exams. Will provides quality patient care as well as meet all service excellence standards. Qualifications/certifications/experience: RDMS preferred, RDMS eligible considered. AHA BLS required. Minimum of 2 years general and OB experience preferred. This position will work holidays as assigned. This is a network position and may require assignments at multiple locations. WHAT YOU'LL DO * Perform ultrasound studies and facilitate ultrasound training at your home hospital and regional hospitals * Maintain good relationships with and accept feedback from teleconsultation radiologists reading your studies (e.g., Antech, SonoPath, IDEXX, VetsChoice, etc.) * Ensure all training content and activities are in alignment with VEG culture, mission, and vision, and represent accurate, up-to-date sonographic techniques * Track doctor and nursing team skills with a VEG Ultrasound Certificate checklist * Engage in self-reflection and program evaluation practices to modify and enhance VEG's ultrasound training programs * Regularly meet with the medical directors, nursing trainer, and director of radiology education to discuss program development, training objectives, and additional needs * Regularly meet with the hospital manager and medical director to discuss implementation of new training protocols, training schedules, hospital training needs, and team concerns * Coordinate weekly schedule to work on the floor shifts with the hospital manager and medical director and devote time to training responsibilities * May assist in developing ultrasound curriculum material, such as PowerPoints, videos, simulations, and assessments to be implemented across the doctor and nursing team training programs * May provide educational demonstrations for doctors and nurses at other VEGs, including ultrasound topics, such as abdominal, thoracic, cardiac, cervical, and musculoskeletal studies WHAT YOU NEED * Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT/LVMT), diagnostic medical sonographer (RDMS), and/or equivalent experience (e.g., sonographer course certificates) * 3+ years veterinary ultrasound experience * Previous training experience and the patience to teach and develop doctors, nurses, and fellow sonographers * Comfortable mentoring others and giving/receiving feedback from colleagues * Adaptability to changing environments * Excellent communicator with peers, customers, and VEGgies * Embrace the VEG Way and be excited to share your perspective and experience * Eagerness to grow as a sonographer through training and continuing education * Desire to travel to regional hospitals and off-site training facilities (e.g., Fort Collins, CO; Las Vegas, NV; White Plains, NY, etc.) WHO YOU ARE * Empathetic, instinctively taking a people-centric approach, whether supporting your colleagues or making an effort to understand different perspectives * Have a sense of humility; acknowledging mistakes, sharing credit with others, and lifting up your team's' accomplishments * Feel a strong sense of ownership over your work, taking responsibility for outcomes and staying committed to achieving long-term, impactful results * Curious by nature; you ask insightful questions and continuously seek out opportunities to learn and grow your skills and knowledge HOW WE INVEST IN YOU * Competitive compensation, including base and 401K match * Comprehensive health and wellness benefits that start on day one, including QPR training and access to free therapy or counseling * Based on your role, you may be eligible for equity after one year of full time, active employment with VEG, so you can share in our growth and success * A BIG focus on learning and growth, from VEG-created clinical and leadership programs to unlimited ER CE + travel stipend (no really!).
