ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Underwriter II, CRE is accountable for portfolio of commercial loans generally varying in loan relationships size of $750,000 to $3,500,000, including underwriting credit risk and granting credit approval within prescribed level of loan authority in conjunction with Lead or Senior Underwriters, or presenting credit recommendation to Loan Committee; facilitating loan closing; and servicing booked loans. Contributes to effective risk management through ordering and execution of loan documentation and ongoing monitoring of customer-supplied information and collateral administration.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
Provide in-depth credit and risk analysis and communicate underwriting results with Financial Guide and customer.
Approve or decline commercial credit applications to contribute to sound loan portfolio management.
Develop a comprehensive understanding of customer's financial needs and formulate a plan for loan structure and servicing.
Perform financial statement forecasting and sensitivity analysis to determine borrower's capacity to repay debt.
Write credit narratives and perform risk assessments of product, policy, structure, terms, and customer financial strength.
Independently grade all credits in accordance with the bank's credit classification system.
Ensure proper documentation and closing of loan transactions and conduct ongoing account monitoring.
Meet with customers to close loan transactions and maintain consulting credit relationships.
Identify potential new lending needs in existing relationships and suggest solutions.
Participate in research projects and maintain industry knowledge.
WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent education to include upper-level courses in finance and accounting.
5-7 years of experience working with Ag or commercial loans.
In-depth knowledge of advanced loan documentation, banking laws, and regulations preferred.
Experience assessing, selling, and closing all types of agricultural, commercial, and commercial real estate loans.

Responsibilities
Review and process a portfolio of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac assumption/transfer of ownership requests, adhering to Agency guidelines.
Serve as the transaction's primary point of contact for the borrower, production teams, and other relevant parties.
Manage and communicate transaction expectations and updates to the team's manager, borrower, production managers, and other relevant parties.
Prepare assumption/transfer applications, as well as processing checklists and required borrower forms.
Review and inventory required due diligence documentation.
Examine borrower structures by creating and reviewing organizational charts and documents.
Review the sponsor's real estate schedules and financial statements to assess their creditworthiness and financial wherewithal.
Prepare underwriting packages including financial modeling, market analysis, borrower credit analysis, and lender risk assessments.
Engage and review any required third-party reports (Appraisal, Property Condition Assessment, Environmental, Zoning, and Seismic).
Coordinate third-party onsite property inspections, if required.
Submit and process assumption/transfer of ownership request to the applicable Agency and/or Master Servicer, with continued follow up and monitoring.
Pre-closing and post-closing support, with the preparation of transaction approval letters and final delivery documentation.
Assist insurance and closing teams, as needed.
Mentor and train the team's GSE Assumptions Analysts or other support staff.
Be apprised of changing Agency guidelines, while staying current on multifamily market trends and regulatory developments impacting commercial real estate.
Experience
Education: Bachelor's Degree, preferably with major in real estate finance, business administration, or accounting. Other Majors will be considered.
Work:
4-7 years' experience in asset management or underwriting Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac multifamily transactions, with experience in processing assumptions and transfers of ownership a plus.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), experience with Adobe, Salesforce, and other database applications (Enterprise!).
Skilled in the various Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac multifamily applications (DUS Navigate, MAMP, CRT, DMS, etc.).

**About the role**
Trustmark is looking for a Case Underwriter to join the organization.
Responsible for providing timely and accurate underwriting offers, while adhering to pricing and profit objectives. Develops partnership with Sales to maximize ability to sell new/maintain existing business. Stays current with our Administrative, Enrollment, Broker, and Enrollment Company capabilities and processes.
**Key Accountabilities**
+ Processes, reviews, analyzes and makes informed underwriting decisions for assigned territory. All cases are reviewed with manager or higher level underwriter until proficiency is achieved. At full proficiency, underwriting authority is a maximum of 5,000 life case or $500,000 of annualized premium.
+ Reviews enrollment and participation trends in assigned territory and makes recommendations to optimize opportunity for sales while minimizing risk.
+ Provides monthly updates on sold case successes and failures as it relates to access and participation for Guarantee Issue cases.
+ Continually asks questions to grow and better understand our products and procedures. Develops and grows relationship with Implementation Managers to gain their confidence in decisions.
+ Understands non-standard broker arrangements and enrollment company strengths and weaknesses.
+ Identifies elements of a successful enrollment and makes recommendations that will create value.
+ Works with reinsurer on cases that require facultative review.
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Bachelor's Degree and/or 2 - 4 years of related experience OR High School Diploma or GED with 4-6 years of related experience.
The compensation range for this role is (based on the corporate location in Lake Forest, Illinois):
$61,412.00 - $88,706.00 per year
The final salary offer will be determined based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, skill set, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for bonus. Position Responsibilities:

Prepare or review underwriting template and narratives summarizing the loan structure, transaction strengths and identified risks, and present the final package for internal and Agency approval. Ensure the underwriting package meets Agency requirements
Analyze operating history, budget, property rent roll, and other financial information to verify the proforma and loan request aligns with Agency's quote and guidelines
Review Borrower structure to identify all appropriate parties to complete mortgage credit due diligence, and complete an org chart to meet Agency requirements
Review and analyze the Key Borrower Principal's real estate schedule, financial statements, and other due diligence documents to ensure compliance with Agency requirements
Review third-party reports to ensure compliance with Agency guidelines (appraisal, environmental, engineering, zoning, etc.)
Monitor transaction status to manage Production and Borrower expectations and anticipate, avoid, or solve any potential transaction-related problems
Coordinate with the internal insurance team and Agency to obtain insurance approval, including waiver approval, if necessary
Coordinate the closing of the transaction between Production, attorneys, and the title company on Freddie Mac transactions
Participate in calls with Production and Borrower and/or legal to discuss transaction details, issues, and borrower structure.
Conduct site visits with the Borrower, Production, and consultants, as needed.
Draft Application and Commitment Letters, Rate Lock Agreements/Trade Authorizations
Assist in final loan package delivery or pre-purchase matters.
Keep apprised of shifts in the commercial real estate world, including Agency credit parameters and requirements.
What We're Looking For:
3-5 years of Agency Underwriting experience, including Fannie MAH and Freddie TAH transactions
Knowledge of Agency program requirements

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This individual will play a key role in managing various aspects of the loan process, from application to closing. Responsibilities include providing analysis related to underwriting, due diligence, evaluating property and market data, and preparing comprehensive transaction narratives. Position Responsibilities:
Review prescreen packages for Affordable deals before they are submitted to the Freddie Mac TAH and Fannie Mae MAH team for a quote
Prepare or review underwriting template and narratives summarizing the loan structure, transaction strengths and identified risks, and present the final package for internal and Agency approval. Ensure the underwriting package meets Agency requirements
Analyze operating history, budget, property rent roll, and other financial information to verify the proforma and loan request aligns with Agency's quote and guidelines
Review Borrower structure to identify all appropriate parties to complete mortgage credit due diligence, and complete an org chart to meet Agency requirements
Review and analyze the Key Borrower Principal's real estate schedule, financial statements, and other due diligence documents to ensure compliance with Agency requirements
Review third-party reports to ensure compliance with Agency guidelines (appraisal, environmental, engineering, zoning, etc.)
Monitor transaction status to manage Production and Borrower expectations and anticipate, avoid, or solve any potential transaction-related problems
Coordinate with the internal insurance team and Agency to obtain insurance approval, including waiver approval, if necessary
Coordinate the closing of the transaction between Production, attorneys, and the title company on Freddie Mac transactions
Participate in calls with Production and Borrower and/or legal to discuss transaction details, issues, and borrower structure.
Conduct site visits with the Borrower, Production, and consultants, as needed.
Draft Application and Commitment Letters, Rate Lock Agreements/Trade Authorizations
Assist in final loan package delivery or pre-purchase matters.
Keep apprised of shifts in the commercial real estate world, including Agency credit parameters and requirements.
What We're Looking For:
3-5 years of Agency Underwriting experience, including Fannie MAH and Freddie TAH transactions
Knowledge of Agency program requirements

ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Business Banking Underwriter I is accountable for underwriting and monitoring a portfolio of business banking level commercial and industrial (C&I) loans ranging in size from $1,000,000 to $5,000,000.
