It has 4 radiation oncologists, 3 part time/full time dosimetrists, a chief physicist and will add a staff physicist. * This clinic is equipped with both Varian True Beam and Elekta Equipment HDR, CT and PET CT. Aria and Eclipse system. * This position will be reported to the Chief phy Responsibilities Determines the need for, specifies, and accesses dosimetric and treatment planning equipment including, but not limited to, measurement instruments to calibrate all treatment equipment and monitoring devices, computerized treatment planning systems, computerized water phantom systems with appropriate ionization chambers and diodes, film densitometry systems, etc. * Participates in the specification, selection, and acceptance of radiation-producing machines, accessories, and computerized treatment-planning system. * Supervises arrangements for proper maintenance of radiation treatment equipment. * Periodically evaluates all equipment for continued utility, appropriateness, reliable performance, age and condition and makes recommendations on practical life span, obsolescence and replacement. * Maintains responsibility for the design and implementation of the aspects of the quality management program that involve the use of the external beam radiotherapy equipment as well as the review and approval of the procedures followed by the radiation therapy staff. * Advises and consults with physicians to provide advice or direction to technical staff when patients are being planned or treated. Develops protocols for performing and checking monitor units calculations to ensure all calculations agree with written prescription. * Participates in chart rounds to ensure the fulfillment of the prescription and review any changes in dose and patient set-up. * Completes, keeps and maintains proper records of all required documentation relating to radiation treatment plans and equipment, QA and calibration records. Participates in the clinical instruction of newly hired radiation staff and radiation therapy students. * Conducts HDR (high dose rate) and LDR (low dose rate) brachytherapy procedures as needed. May be expected to act as a junior physicist mentor. Familiarity and use of record and verifying systems such as Varis and IMPAC. * Directs the radiation oncology physics program, including the technical direction of medical dosimetrists, therapy equipment service engineers and other physics support staff. All aspects of radiation oncology activities, including performing routine clinical physics activities, clinical support and treatment planning, brachytherapy & Advanced procedures, adhere to policies and procedures, keeping up to date AAPM protocols and other regulations. Maintain standards and regulation requirements. Qualifications We are seeking a Medical Physicist to join our radiation oncology team in Columbia, Missouri. This on-site position is open to board-certified physicist, non-certified physicist, or a junior physicist who is board eligible. Minimum is MS degree in medical physics. Responsibilities PROVIDES COMPREHENSIVE NUTRITION CARE OF PATIENTS ACCORDING TO POLICIES & PROCEDURES Responsible for nutritional assessment completions 100% per policy Meets charting guidelines 100% of the time determined by chart audits Provides quality medical nutrition therapy as appropriate on patient care units including necessary follows and in accordance with facility policy Performs nutrition focus physical exams as medically appropriate for the diagnosis of malnutrition. Participates in the review of the Patient Satisfaction Data and contributes to the development of the action plan and implementation of the plan ACTIVELY PROVIDES NUTRITION SUPPORT THROUGH ASSESSMENT, DEVELOPMENT OF A NUTRITION CARE PLAN, IMPLEMENTATION OF NUTRITION CARE PLAN, AND MONITORING OF NUTRITION THERAPY Works with other Nutritional Services Team members to provide nutrition therapy in a timely manner. Must participate in a required rotation for weekend and holiday coverage Writes and manages TPN and PN including, labs orders and review with pharmacological recommendation and follow up as necessary Writes and manages enteral nutrition as necessary with follow ups as needed Participates and presents in rounds, education seminars, Journal Club, team meetings, etc. to gain knowledge in Nutrition Support and medical nutrition therapy as evidenced in personal portfolio Is able to accurately document assessment and MNT in the patient EMR and menu management program. PROVIDES NUTRITION CARE OF PATIENTS ACCORDING TO REGULATORY BODIES SUCH AS JCAHO, IDPH, CARF, ETC. AND CURRENT TRENDS AND KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED ANNUALLY Maintains knowledge of regulations Analyzes performance compared to regulations and offers ways to better, efficiently comply to provide optimum nutrition care Fulfills CDR and IDPR education requirements and maintains report portfolio with education receipts for IDPH or CDR audit PROVIDES NUTRITION EDUCATION TO PATIENTS, FAMILIES, COMMUNITY EVENTS, STAFF GROUPS, MEDIA, DIETETIC STUDENTS AND INTERNS etc. Develops and utilizes a variety of processes to determine patient education needs, ie consults, assessments, ` orders, communication with other staff, care paths, etc. Works cooperatively with Dining Hosts in determining and providing patients' education needs Assists with in-services for Dining Hosts regarding diets Provides nutrition education to patients, family members, staff, and community groups Participates in the training of the Dietetic Students and Dietetic Interns. Compensation and Benefits The compensation range for this position is $26.1per hour - $43.59per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
