Position Overview: As a Relief Veterinarian, you will provide preventative veterinary care for dogs and cats. You will work in diverse environments, adapt to different practice styles and protocols, and ensure continuity of care while maintaining high standards of professionalism and compassion. Flexibility with weekends, strong clinical skills, and the ability to quickly integrate into new teams are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide vaccinations to pets at community outreach vaccine clinics
Each team includes an animal restraint assistant and a Team Lead
Provide exceptional customer service to pet owners
Maintain accurate medical records
Follow all ShotVet protocols and procedures
Qualifications:
Valid DVM License in good standing in your state
Available on weekends
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to work in a team environment

Essential Job Tasks:
Assists the veterinarian during the examination of animals

Requirements:
Certified Veterinary Technician, license must be current in Alabama
2-3 years of veterinary experience
Must be able to work rotating weekends
Can lift 50lb and can stand for long periods
Cornerstone and Idexx experience preferred
Qualifications
Experience as a veterinary technician or assistant.
Strong animal handling skills and knowledge of clinical procedures.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT, RVT, or LVT) preferred - or eligibility to obtain licensure based on state requirements.
Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures.
Safely handle and restrain animals; administer medications and vaccines.
Collect lab samples and maintain accurate patient records.
Educate clients on pet care and ensure a clean, organized work environment.
