The Director of Nursing is a full-time, licensed registered nurse responsible for overseeing all clinical services at the Medical Day Center (PPECC). This role ensures the safe, high-quality delivery of pediatric care to medically fragile children and supervises the day-to-day operations of the nursing and direct care teams. The DON works collaboratively with interdisciplinary staff and families, ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, maintains appropriate staffing levels, and supports professional development for all clinical staff. This position is vital to maintaining the overall effectiveness, safety, and regulatory compliance of the center. Responsibilities: • Supervise all aspects of a minor's Plan of Care to ensure care is delivered as ordered • Lead and evaluate all professional and direct care clinical staff to ensure compliance with accepted nursing standards and PPECC regulations
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, rules, and policies related to PPECC services
• Supervise daily clinical operations and serve as a liaison to the interdisciplinary team
• Monitor and ensure timely documentation of clinical services, daily logs, and census
• Ensure documentation of and compliance with required staffing ratios
• Implement staffing policies that ensure only qualified, licensed staff are hired and retained
• Verify and maintain records of licensure, CPR, certifications, and competencies
• Implement and enforce clinical policies and procedures to support quality care
• Coordinate onboarding and in-service education for all nursing and direct care staff
• Conduct annual performance evaluations for the clinical team
• Participate in committees, planning meetings, and IDT coordination
• Monitor care delivery to ensure it is safe, compassionate, and effective
• Identify QA/PI issues and lead process improvement initiatives
• Respond to emergencies and lead clinical incident investigations as needed
• Participate in networking and outreach meetings with hospitals, pediatricians, and community-based providers to support pediatric referrals and enhance collaborative care planning. Requirements: • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Nursing • Current, unencumbered RN license under Texas Occupations Code, Chapter 301
• At least two years of supervision and management in a pediatric setting caring for medically fragile children
• Experience in one of the following settings:
➢ Pediatric ICU, NICU, pediatric ER, pediatric home health/hospice, pediatric surgery, or pediatric hospital unit
• Completion of the HHSC-required “Overview of Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care Center Licensing Standards in Texas” course
• Certification in CPR or Basic Cardiac Life Support

THE POSITION:

Job Description

Qualifications
Current state license as a Registered Nurse, BSN preferred.

Job Description
ST
- Provides skilled speech therapy services/interventions to pediatric patients with speech/communication, language, hearing, voice, and feeding/swallowing deficits.
Evaluates all assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans in accordance with patient needs.
Provides teaching and counseling to patients/families
Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to plan and evaluate team goals for each patient
Provides accurate and timely documentation according to standards set by the department and regulatory agencies.
Job Type
Full-time (Qualify just 20 visits a week!) ( up to $1500 Sign On Bonus)
Part-time
*No Minimal weekly case load/ visit count
Qualifications
Master's, or Doctorate degree from an accredited therapy program
Active state licensure as required
At least 1 clinical rotation in Pediatrics (Pediatric experience preferred)
CPR Certification
Valid drivers license and insurance

Qualifications:
Valid/Current Nursing License
Valid/Current CPR Card for Healthcare Workers
Willingness to work a flexible schedule and fill in when needed
Self motivator and require little supervision
Operate an automobile with a current driver's license and current auto insurance
Be completely mobile to life and transfer a patient from one location to another
Registered Nurse (RN) Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Job Summary:
Assist with patient treatment and rehabilitation by performing nursing procedures for which his/her training has provided the necessary skills and judgment. Participate in assessment planning, implementing, and evaluating all patient care in collaboration with the clinical supervisor. Provide health counseling, including emotional support and parental education. Coordination of Care with all other agencies and physician offices involved in patient care.
