Your Impact + Lead port and intermodal rail terminal infrastructure projects and pursuits with our Maritime Planning Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges. + Serve as a project manager or task lead for multidisciplinary maritime planning projects and provide technical oversight and expertise on maritime and intermodal market analysis, logistics analysis, master planning, feasibility studies, due diligence studies, grant application support, business plans, concept design and port/terminal operator consulting. + Develop a client base for providing high level marine, port, and coastal engineering services including identifying additional business development opportunities. + Mentor staff to support their growth and professional development. + Remain current in latest marine, port, and coastal engineering techniques and practices. + Utilize and continue to develop WSP's proprietary port planning program to aid in the efficient preparation of master plans, comprehensive land-use models and due-diligence projects. + Collaborate with professionals from a variety of disciplines, other engineers, building, infrastructure, transportation, and port authorities on Federal, State, regional, and locally funded improvement and development projects, as well as proposal and business development opportunities. + Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. + Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs. Who You Are **Required Qualifications** + Bachelor's Degree in Planning, Engineering, economics, or closely related discipline. + 10+ years of relevant post education experience in port planning/engineering discipline and prior marine, port, and coastal design experience. + Highly proficient with marine, port, and coastal engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to project work-related issues. + Strong knowledge of relevant marine, port, and coastal construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements + Experienced with providing critical review for documents and preparing technical deliverables and plans with a high degree of complexity. + Strong management skillset with a proven track record of handling multiple direct reports. + Demonstrated effectiveness at coordinating and assertively directing subcontractors and others to consistently complete tasks safely and efficiently. + Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. + Must be flexible to a variety of schedules to meet business needs and able to prioritize responsibilities and quickly adapt to change in a pressure work environment. + Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements. + Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card which requires a TSA background check **Preferred Qualifications** + Master's Degree in Planning, Engineering, economics, or closely related discipline. + Engineer license required (multi-state preferred) or AICP. Primary responsibilities include client service management, project delivery, design management, and project management for water and wastewater treatment and conveyance projects. Your Key Responsibilities Become engaged in business development and project delivery as a client-facing Project Leader in the Municipal and/or Industrial Water market in California. Manage project staff, financials, and contracts meeting performance goals and client expectations. Promote Stantec's project delivery structure that includes Project Managers and Project Technical Leads. Provide technical guidance and leadership in the development of innovative technical solutions for water and/or wastewater projects. Communicate effectively and coordinate with clients on projects during planning, design, and construction. Work closely with leadership to identify strategic client relationships to be developed, fostered and/or maintained in California and lead business development efforts. Engage our clients in meaningful discussions about their most critical issues and translate those discussions into opportunities to deliver solutions. Mentor young professionals in the California offices. Comply with Stantec safety procedures and protocols. Your Capabilities and Credentials Experience organizing, planning, and executing water and/or wastewater treatment and/or conveyance designs from pursuit to design and construction. Experience leading, coordinating, and managing multidisciplinary teams involving internal personnel, subconsultants, vendors, and suppliers. Experience with collaborative delivery projects working with contractors and vendors. Strong client service, project management, and/or design management skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Passion for team building, collaboration, and mentoring. Strong technical skills with at least one area of specialized expertise. Ability to meet client expectations on project budgeting and quality management. Experience managing or participating in market and strategic client relationship development campaigns and proposal writing. Must have a good driving record and valid driver's license. Education and Experience Education: B.S. degree in civil, environmental, or chemical engineering, M.S. preferred Experience: Minimum of 15 years of water/wastewater treatment or conveyance experience Licenses/Certifications: Valid California Professional Engineering license, or Professional Engineering license in another state with ability to obtain California license within 1 year of employment required.
