Duties and Responsibilities
This position performs advanced family finding program efforts to discover, engage, plan, make decisions, and evaluate strategies to locate relatives and fictive kin.
* Conducts extensive/advanced searches, such as case mining, mobility mapping, internet searches and cold calls, to locate adult relatives and fictive kin.
* Collaborate with the child protective investigator to identify and build positive connections between the child and the child's relatives and fictive kin.

* Attends and participates in family finding group decision making which may include conducting a multidisciplinary meeting with all parties involved and prospective family members or fictive kin.
* Attend Case Transfer Staffing as needed to inform Child Welfare Professionals of current status of family finding efforts.
* Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships with organizations and other agencies involved with child welfare such as community-based care providers, Children's Legal Services, Guardian ad Litem, schools, clinical professionals, and other community agency resources.
* Regularly reviews and identifies any changes to Florida Statutes, DCF Operational Procedures, Administrative Rule and policies. Ensures participants are aware of changes, confidentiality and HIPAA, and identifies potential problems related to case specifics.
Knowledge, skills and abilities
Knowledge in Florida's Practice Model and Florida's official electronic system of record, Florida Safe Family Network (FSFN). Experience in Microsoft Office, familiar with the child welfare system, excellent written and oral communication skills, strong interpersonal skills relative to diverse populations in academic, public health, and community settings. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing deadlines. Analytical, decision making, and organizational skills.

Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree or higher preferred. Relevant experience may substitute for formal education at the discretion of the CEO.
Experience: At least one year of experience working with children, preferably in crisis situations. Familiarity with ACES and trauma-informed care is highly valued.
Skills:
Strong understanding of child growth and development.
Basic counseling skills with the ability to work effectively with children of all ages.
Ability to plan, organize, and lead fun, engaging activities that support children's emotional well-being.
Basic computer skills required.

Key Responsibilities:
This direct care position supervises a group of 7-10 youth through activities during waking and non-waking hours. While unobtrusively providing external controls necessary to ensure safety and security, Youth Care Specialists guide and teach youth the internal controls needed to live responsibly when and where external controls are relaxed.
Supervise the activities of a group of youths, maintaining knowledge of the whereabouts of all group members. Comply with published procedures on movement, physical security, contraband, head counts, and reporting.

Requirements:
Education - Two years of college coursework in social or human service field preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required.

Skills - Verbal skills to relate effectively with youth on an adult level, without patronizing, are required. Group counseling and leadership skills are required. The Behavioral Health Specialist provides mental health support and clinical services to detainees housed in a Detention Facility. Key Responsibilities:
This direct care position supervises a group of 7-10 youth through activities during waking and non-waking hours. While unobtrusively providing external controls necessary to ensure safety and security, Youth Care Specialists guide and teach youth the internal controls needed to live responsibly when and where external controls are relaxed.
Supervise the activities of a group of youths, maintaining knowledge of the whereabouts of all group members. Comply with published procedures on movement, physical security, contraband, head counts, and reporting.
Provide a safe, secure environment using group counseling techniques, individual relationships, positive discipline techniques through effective use of the behavior modification system (I-Choose), and the use of crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as needed.
Represent each youths problems, needs, and accomplishments to the treatment team, or provides progress reports to the counselor representative on the treatment team.
Call and/or conduct huddle-ups, problem solving group meetings, and daily reviews with the assigned group of youths, providing prompts and interventions to ensure that youth are helping each other and are recognized for their efforts.
Assist classroom teachers in the delivery of subject matter and transfer of class content and study practices to the living units.
Assist and promote activity planning and completion by the assigned group of youths. Ensure that planning, doing, and evaluating are part of the daily routing for each group, and that activities or opportunities for individual recognition are created and used to treatment advantage.
Document daily shift occurrences and frequent population counts as required by local and corporate policy. Make referrals for special needs or medical evaluation, and brief oncoming shifts on events of the past shift.
Other Duties Include:
Participate in training and development activities as required.
Report any acts, incidents or conditions that reflect the possibility of inappropriate youth-to-youth or staff-to-youth relationships.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Education Two years of college coursework in social or human service field preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience For incumbents with a high school diploma or equivalent, two years work experience working with youth preferred.
Skills Verbal skills to relate effectively with youth on an adult level, without patronizing, are required. Group counseling and leadership skills are required. Good analytical skills and the ability to distinguish between cause and effect and opinion and fact are also required, as is the capacity to think and act independently. Certification in First Aid, CPR, and appropriate crisis intervention methods must be obtained during the probationary period. Proficiency in group work must be demonstrated during probationary period and remaining employment with YOI. Must be able to provide accurate, objective written documentation of shift events and unusual incidents.
Physical Demands Must be able to lift 30 pounds from floor level to shoulder height. Extensive walking and standing required. Must be capable of detecting and rapidly responding to client altercations, attempts at self-harm, or escape attempts, and must be able to apply approved physical restraint techniques. Must be capable of participating with clients in active and passive team or individual activities in outdoor or indoor environments, occasionally during inclement weather. Must be capable of transporting a client. Must be free of communicable diseases as defined by the state and to the extent that such knowledge is attainable under the law.
Other Must maintain an appropriate and valid state driver's license. Must meet state and criminal background check requirements.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SHELTER SERVICES ADVOCATE
As a Shelter Services Advocate, you will work as part of a team in our residential shelter, providing a safe environment for adults, children, and animals fleeing domestic violence. You will deliver immediate crisis intervention and safety planning for our clients, advocating for victims of domestic violence while providing support and information about available options. Your role is to educate and empower, supporting clients' decision-making without dictating their choices.
You will develop professional relationships with clients, monitor their progress towards goals, facilitate support groups, and ensure their ongoing physical and emotional well-being. Additionally, you will conduct lethality assessments to prevent domestic violence homicides, serious injury, and re-assault, encouraging survivors to utilize support and shelter services.
You will play a crucial role in making a difference in the lives of those experiencing difficult circumstances.
QUALIFICATIONS
At least one year of crisis intervention experience
Clean driving record
Basic to intermediate computer skills
Previous crisis intervention experience in a domestic violence program is a plus, but not required
Note: You must attend a 3-day training to become CORE certified prior to working with survivors.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides medical services at the scope and level of a Behavior Health Specialist to preserve the health of employees and client personnel.
Educates the workforce about mood disorders, such as depression and anxiety.

Pursues professional development activities and continuing education to ensure currency with present practices and trends in healthcare and specifically in the practice of emergency medical treatment.

Qualifications:
5 years minimum recent experience delivering behavioral health services.
Master's degree from an accredited school in professional counseling/psychology or related field.
Hold and maintain an active and unrestricted License and the ability to be favorability credentialed by Acuity policy.
Must be current in all required certifications.
Specialty and/or experience in trauma (PTSD, Acute Traumatic Stress).
Experience with Military and/or Law Enforcement personnel and/or experience serving as or working as a Military Mental Health Specialist.
Experience with Employee Assistance Program (EAP) type issues.
Have extensive experience with varied treatment modalities (i.e., visualization, EFT, yoga, EMDR, etc…) and incorporate that in behavioral health care practices.
Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, be organized, and have excellent verbal and communication skills.
Ability to adapt to sudden changes and flexibility in work requirements to include potential shift changes based on operational needs and/or command priorities.
Ability to work well with senior management and across functions to achieve business objectives.
Proficient in Microsoft applications, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Requires a favorable security background check and drug screen.
Shall demonstrate proficiency in the use of basic word processing programs and the Acuity Medical Management Systems software.
All health care providers and medical support staff must have recent clinical experience in patient care for at least 6 months out of the past year.
Must have a valid, current U.S. Driver's License.
Must have a valid U.S. Passport with no less than 6 months remaining before expiration.
Shall be proficient in the ability to speak, write, and communicate in English.
Requires a favorably adjudicated CNACI investigation conducted by the Department of Defense.
