Your Day at Lowe's
You'll keep shelves stocked and backrooms organized by unloading freight, moving products to the sales floor, and maintaining a clean, safe workspace. We are seeking an experienced and skilled Garden Supervisor
to lead our team in the maintenance, upkeep, and development of our garden
department. The Garden Supervisor will be responsible for supervising the
day-to-day operations of the garden, ensuring that all tasks are completed
efficiently and effectively, and that the garden is maintained to the highest
standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise a team in the maintenance and upkeep of the garden, including managing inventory and organization of product
Conduct regular inspections of the garden to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective action as needed
Manage garden resources, including plant materials, tools, and equipment
Collaborate with other departments to ensure that garden activities are integrated with other store activities
Develop and maintain a budget for garden supplies and materials
Provide training and guidance to garden staff on best practices and new techniques
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and safety protocols
Coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialized work such as irrigation system maintenance
Develop and maintain a calendar of garden events and activities
Requirements:
Experience in gardening, preferably in a supervisory role
Strong knowledge of plant identification and gardening techniques
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 50 pounds) and work in a physically demanding environment
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Valid driver's license (if applicable)
Preferred Qualifications:
Passion for gardening and plants
Previous retail and customer service experience
Strong communication and leadership skills
Ability to work weekends and 8-hour shifts
Working Conditions:
This position requires working outdoors in all weather conditions (rain or shine)
May require working on uneven terrain or in areas with heavy vegetation
May require working with hazardous materials (e.g. pesticides, herbicides)
