The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to work from blueprints and utilize measuring and non-destructive techniques to perform quality mechanical repairs and inspections on customer equipment. **Responsibilities** + Repair gear boxes and perform quality mechanical repairs and inspections on customer equipment efficiently and in a timely manner. + Clean and disassemble equipment using hand tools, pneumatic/power equipment, hydraulic equipment, torches, and cranes. + Inspect equipment using visual, measuring, and non-destructive techniques, employing tools such as micrometers and dial indicators to ensure precision to .001" accuracy. + Take and record all required measurements at disassembly including gear backlash, shaft end-play, radial and axial runout, etc., following formalized work instructions. + Enter disassembly and inspection findings using electronic reporting software, documenting visual and dimension findings, photos, explanations, and repair opinions for review. + Assemble equipment to industry standards (AGMA, ANSI, ABEC, etc.), recording all required measurements at assembly and testing. + Perform all work in a safe manner, adhering to formal written work instructions in all job-related areas. + Clean work area and shop equipment after use, ensuring all tooling is returned to its proper location. + Undertake other duties and responsibilities as assigned for the successful operation of the shop. **Essential Skills** + 3 years of experience in the mechanics, millwright, or repair industry. + Experience working from blueprints. + Experience with measuring and non-destructive techniques. + Knowledge of troubleshooting, hydraulics, and preventive maintenance. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience as a maintenance technician or repair technician. + Mechanical inclination and industrial maintenance knowledge. + Experience with the use of inside/outside micrometers, telescopic ID micrometers, pin gauges, hardness testers, torches, and impact guns. + Worked on your own vehicles, hand & power tool usage. **Why Work Here?** Join a team that values health, dental, and vision benefits, and offers an incentive plan with bonuses.
