SUMMARY: The City of Black Hawk is currently accepting applications for the position part-time Police Officer (Colorado POST certified laterals only). The position is responsible for performing public safety functions and for providing for the enforcement of federal, state, and municipal law. This position will be shared with another part-time police officer covering a full 40-hour shift.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Essential functions include Providing law enforcement services, including patrolling streets and public areas; responding to calls for assistance; providing assistance to the public; performing public relations duties; intervening in disputes; performing activities associated with investigations and crime prevention; protecting and preserving crime scenes; conducting preliminary investigations; collecting physical evidence; making arrests; issuing citations; interviewing and/or counseling involved parties; preparing documentation of activities performed and information gathered; completing detailed police reports; following up on cases; assisting with filing cases; transporting prisoners to detention facilities; testifying in court; interacting with other jurisdictions, law enforcement agencies and courts of law; researching and completing special projects; and performing other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS: Education and Experience: Requires high school diploma or GED; Colorado Peace Officer Standards and Training (CPOST) certification by the date of hire; valid Colorado driver's license with a safe driving record; and the ability to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must be at least 21 years of age. Applicants are encouraged to observe one patrol shift with a Black Hawk Police Officer.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: At least two (2) years of patrol experience.

Completes meter reading, service tickets, concerns, leak checks, non-consumption meter checks and disconnects for utility billing purposes.
Assist with DNR and EPA water testing and reporting functions under licensed operator supervision.

Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited four year college or university, preferably with a degree in criminal justice, social or another behavioral science.

This position works on a team and manages the planning and implementation of forestry projects on private, state, and federal land in the assigned District. Projects include, but are not limited to, hazardous fuel reduction, forest health improvement, and watershed restoration.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties:

Matches are played indoors or outdoors depending on the season; may require working in adverse weather conditions during the outdoor season.
Prior volleyball officiating experience preferred. Ability to officiate adults at the AA, A or Gold levels preferred. Extensive knowledge and understanding of USA Volleyball rules, terminology, and hand signals preferred. CPR and First Aid certifications preferred.

This is a professional non-sworn position within the Evidence Section. A Crime Scene Technician assists police officers assigned to the investigation of criminal cases. The employee in this position is responsible for executing competent forensic processing during calls for service. Often these calls develop into complex investigations involving high profile matters and sensitive information.

Effective July 1, 2025, in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, 18, 19, 20, and 21, and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, will have their base salary reduced by 3 percent and will receive 5 PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Conduct speech and language screening without interpretation, using screening protocols specified by the supervising SLP.
* Provide direct treatment assistance, identified by the supervising speech-language pathologist by following written treatment plans, individualized education programs, individual support plans or protocols developed by the supervising speech-language pathologist.
* Document student progress toward meeting established objectives as stated in the individualized education program without interpreting the findings and report this information to the supervising speech-language pathologist.
* Assist the speech-language pathologist in collecting and tallying data for assessment purposes, without interpreting the data.
* Act as a second-language interpreter during assessments.
* Assist with informal documentation during an intervention session by collecting and tallying data as directed by the speech-language pathologist, preparing materials and assisting with other clerical duties as specified by the supervising speech-language pathologist.
* Schedule activities and prepare charts, records, graphs or other displays of data.
* Perform checks and maintenance of equipment.
* Attend meetings, ASU Prep activities and trainings.
* Sign and initial treatment notes for review and co-signature by the supervising speech-language pathologist
* Represent ASU Prep in a professional manner.
* Maintain open communication with students, parent, community and staff.
* Protect and maintain the confidentiality of students.
