Let's build together! Key Functions Initiate, prepare, review, develop, track, and distribute submittals and RFIs through Procore. Track file documentation (e.g., correspondence, reports, etc.) in Procore daily to follow-up on and/or summarize project issues, agreements, communications with owners and subcontractors, etc. Reconcile paperwork with the Owner's Field Rep to ensure accurate and proper completion of timesheets. Engage the work crews in conversation on both the technical and safety aspects of the job. Confirm installation is in accordance with specification and/or manufacturers' recommendation. Conduct daily log entries. Ensure progress photos are taken, cut sheets, field drawing marked up, T&E sheets verified/signed (if any), and constructed field measurements are completed daily. Interface with Cost Engineer to track invoices and receipts for field purchase orders and maintain field purchase order files and documentation. Coordinate fabrication and delivery of materials with project CPM, Project Manager, and Superintendent. Interface with Cost Engineer to code and approve PO invoices, coordinating with Accounts Payable and Project Support team. Review and submit quantities to owner for approval. Assist the Project Manager in budget analysis and cost projections. Assist in management of all subcontractors. Gather and submit closeout documentation. Assist Project Manager with projections and costs to complete. Desired Qualifications 3+ years of relevant experience, preferably Civil Engineering. Bachelor's degree in civil engineering preferred. About this Role The Application Engineer is to develop dispensing solutions for our customers from our existing product portfolio of Fragrance, Lotion and Foam products. the technical lead within Thomaston for standard catalogue products and products with minor change for product or process projects and communicates all technical data including drawings, BOM's, and interpretation of test data. This position is responsible for reviewing, planning and monitoring incoming special bearing design requirements and providing technical support and assistance both internally and externally. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB: Provide technical support to the Sales force in the areas of bearing design, design improvements, customer support, production support and review of new applications. Works with customers to resolve technical problems and makes technical presentations with the Sales Engineers at target accounts. Review of new applications and provide technical solutions to ensure product performance. Responsible for the conceptual design engineering of new products, special products and contribute to the improvement of existing products and manufacturing methods to meet customer demands. Technical consultant on product design, application and service problems, quality deviations and material and parts substitution. Assists in the technical education of sales trainees and personnel of other departments. Functions as an engineering consultant to manufacturing on problems related to the manufacture of the company's products. Provides product design requirements to product designers assigned to specific projects and assures that all detail process step drawings are in conformance to the requirements and technical specifications. Establishes bearing testing requirements and test plans and reports test results to customers to gain product approval. Responsible for establishing new products into the MRP AS400 system and creating the associated Bill-of-Material. Responsible for approving new product designs and releasing designs to manufacturing Supports lean enterprise activities in support of API Plant objectives. EDUCATION: • Bachelor's degree with major in engineering field required EXPERIENCE: • 3-10 years as Mechanical Engineer or related experience. • Bearing experience is preferred. • Strong mechanical aptitude. SKILLS / CERTIFICATIONS: • Bachelors Degree in an engineering field. Responsible for driving and managing the market strategy and technical evaluation during the sales process, while also working on other elements with the team as the key product advisor. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: List what the person must do to perform the job to meet standards. * Assists customers with heat load calculations, equipment selection & quotation, sizing of hydronic & DX coil, sizing and quotation of direct fired equipment * Responsible for Product demonstrations/presentations to key owners and engineers * Acts as the primary technical resource for the field sales force - Reps * Represents the product at field events such as conferences, seminars & office visits * Pursues education of key technical requirements that support product applications such as staying well versed with ASHRAE Std. 189.1 * Gain familiarity of the various energy rebate programs available throughout the country * Develop literature and other promotional tools to achieve the goals of the Business Model and marketing strategy * Responds to functional and technical elements of RFIs/FRQs * Conveys customer requirements to Project Management team and Customer Service * Work with Product Management to identifies technical issues related to product design and customer requests * Assures complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the marketing & sales process * Travel as permitted to work with Representatives & OEM accounts and visit manufacturing facility. Typically, once or twice a quarter. * Performs other similar or related duties as required or requested The Sales & Application Engineer must possess the experience and knowledge listed below: * B.S.M.E. is strongly preferred * 5+ years of relevant experience in HVAC systems * Must be able to articulate product technology to Owners, Architects, Engineers and internal personnel * Familiarity with building design documents, plans and specifications * Experience and familiarity of LEED qualifications is a plus * Ability to use computer software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook * Strong presentation skills including presentation design towards the specific audience being targeted * Must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships with building owners, engineers and representatives
