Provides preventive maintenance and repair of all revenue collection equipment on buses (fare boxes) and at garages (receivers), including troubleshooting, calibration, removal, and installation of all revenue collection equipment and components. *This recruitment will establish a six (6) month Eligibility List for current and future vacancies. What you would do in this job Preventive Maintenance: Perform timely preventative maintenance on all fareboxes and auxiliary parts and components, which includes but not limited to the Ticket Reading/issuance Machine (TRiM) unit, Bill Transport, Coin Validator, Bill Validator, Cash Box, Garage vaults and bins. Repair Malfunctioning Fareboxes, Vaults and bins: Clean, repair, and/or replace defective farebox parts and components. Process and forward defective parts that cannot be repaired at the garage to OSC for repair. Remove jammed bills, coins, and pre-paid fare media cards from farebox and Ticket Reading/issuance Machine (TRiM) units and properly process to account for collected transit fares. This position must be able to implement solutions and solve complex electromechanical problems, as well as tune and program controllers and drives for full system solutions and builds.
