Position Summary:
The University of Northern Colorado College of Osteopathic Medicine (UNC COM) is seeking applications for a faculty to teach neurosciences at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. The selected candidate will contribute to the development, assessment, and instruction of the preclinical curriculum in the osteopathic medical program.
The successful candidate will join a dynamic and growing team dedicated to providing an innovative, student-centered curriculum. This position may be filled by either a contract renewable or tenure-track faculty member, to be determined at the point of offer after consideration of applicable experience and credentials. Individuals who currently hold tenure at a regionally accredited institution may be recommended for tenure or retreat rights at UNC following consultation with appropriate faculty groups and university administration, and upon approval by the Board of Trustees. Academic rank and salary will depend upon the selected applicant's current rank and experience.
AssistantProfessor Salary Range: $101,540 - $106,885
Associate Professor Salary Range: $133,715 - $140,751
Professor Salary Range: $180,845 - $190,362
Job Duties:
Teaching and Curriculum Development (60-80%)
* Teach neuroscience in the preclinical curriculum of the osteopathic medical program.
* Utilize active learning methods such as team-based learning (TBL), case-based learning (CBL), and flipped classrooms.
* Develop and deliver innovative course content that aligns with UNC COM's college's mission and educational goals.
* Participate in curriculum development and review, ensuring alignment with accreditation standards and best practices in medical education.
Research and Scholarship (10-20%)
* Engage in research or scholarly activities in the candidate's area of expertise, with opportunities for collaboration within and outside the college.
* Mentor students in research projects, fostering critical thinking and evidence-based practice.
Service (10-20%)
* Serve on college and university committees as assigned.
* Participate in academic advising and mentoring of medical students.
* Contribute to the college's mission of community engagement and healthcare improvement through outreach and service activities.
* Support accreditation and assessment activities, including data collection and reporting.
Minimum Qualifications:
* DO, MD, or PhD in Neuroscience or a related or academically appropriate area from an accredited institution
* Teaching experience in higher education, preferably in a medical or health professions college.
* For tenure-track positions: evidence of research potential, including publications or presentations in peer-reviewed forums.
* Experience with curriculum development and assessment in medical education is preferred.
Required Skills/Competencies:
* Demonstrated excellence in teaching biomedical sciences in a higher education setting.
* Experience with active learning methodologies such as TBL, CBL, or similar instructional strategies would be preferred.
* Proficiency in curriculum design, delivery, and assessment.
* Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit
The mission of the Department of Information Systems and Supply Chain Management (ISSCM) is to provide high-quality programs in information systems and supply chain management. We achieve this by integrating quality education with relevant research and professional service for industry and academe. This endeavor produces principled leaders and exceptional problem solvers with an innovative mindset and a commitment to improve and sustain organizations in a global environment and the communities in which they live.
The ISSCM Department comprises 20 faculty in the Information Systems and Supply Chain Management/Operations areas. As of Spring 2025, the Department served 440 undergraduate students and 152 graduate students, most of them in the MS in Information Technology & Management (MSITM) program or its stackable certificates in cybersecurity, business analytics, or supply chain management. The ISSCM Department has a Ph.D. program in Information Systems. Both the BS in ISSCM and the MSITM programs are offered online and in person. All ISSCM offerings are well aligned with SAP, Comp TiA, and AWS, offering a pathway for the students to independently gain industry certifications. The department has active teaching and research relationships with several organizations with a presence in the region, including Cone Health, Volvo Trucks North America, VF Corporation as well as multiple regional logistics and transportation organizations located in the area. JOB PURPOSE:
In this setting, the behavioral science faculty member will support our residents'
acquisition of systemic and relational therapeutic clinical skills to work effectively with individuals, couples and families in their continuity practice; and

Resident observation sessions: The faculty member will provide live supervision for residents in clinic to guide learning of behavioral medicine and psychosocial skills in the context of their clinical practice, and to provide feedback and coaching
Resident clinical support: The faculty member will support residents with their patients' behavioral needs through consultation and coaching
Resident support and advising: The faculty member will meet with residents as needed to provide support and advising, and may support them with community engagement, advocacy, and clinical quality improvement projects
Teaching: The faculty member will engage in teaching sessions in the residency (seminars, didactics)
Clinical practice: The faculty member will see patients independently in the FMC to provide family or individual therapy as needed

Education:

Experience:

Family Camp Instructor Cal-Wood Education Center is a 1,200-acre outdoor classroom in the Rocky Mountain foothills, 15 miles northwest of Boulder. We are a non-profit bringing kids and families together with nature driven by outstanding environmental education programming. Cal-Wood is seeking energetic, flexible, hard-working, and motivated applicants for an exciting and rewarding Family Camp Instructor position. Instructors are responsible for providing a fun and active experience for family groups made up of 8 to 10 families, around 40-60 people total per event.
Programs are two-day / one-night, on the weekends throughout the summer. Our staff get to enjoy working and camping with families at national, state, and county parks, with a team of motivated individuals passionate about outdoor activities, natural science, and equity in the outdoors.
Responsibilities:
Work overnight alongside 1-2 other Cal-Wood Family Camp Instructors, at the location of the family camp (Saturday morning - Sunday afternoon)
Assist Family Camp Coordinator with gathering and preparing materials for each event
Support families by instructing them on how to camp (help set up tents, camp stoves, prepare meals, etc.)
Ensure families are safe and comfortable camping outside
Teach families about survival skills such as: fire building, shelter building, fishing, archery, trail systems, LNT, etc. (You will be trained on these activities)
Entertain families with various outdoor activities and games
Put away and clean materials and gear used from the camps
Drive company vehicles on and off site for camps
Attend Family Camp Instructor staff training May 16th - 17th at Cal-Wood Education Center *Cal-Wood can provide lodging accommodations on-site for this training*
