This position will be within the Department of Management, which is responsible for undergraduate and graduate level (MBA) education in our AACSB-accredited management, entrepreneurship, and human resources concentrations. The department has a long history of high-impact scholarship and innovative educational programming, including a unique technology-focused MBA concentration in human resource information systems. Our faculty are well-regarded scholars across a diverse set of research areas, and frequently publish in high-ranking outlets. The position is targeted toward candidates with research and teaching foci in organizational behavior, management, and human resources. Job Summary
The Department of Physics, Applied Physics, and Astronomy at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY seeks to hire a tenure-track AssistantProfessor in Experimental Quantum Optics, Quantum Entanglement & Quantum Information.
Possible research areas include, but are not limited to, single-photon qubit manipulations, quantum interconnects, entangled-photon light-matter interactions, quantum information transmission, and quantum entanglement and decoherence.
This hire would be part of a bold effort at RPI to strengthen and extend our current faculty cluster in Quantum Information, aligned with the broader research initiatives in the RPI Forward 10-year Strategic Plan. The candidate would also interact with our current Physics faculty on non-linear and quantum optics and photon entanglement, as well as with researchers from Material Science and Electrical Engineering. The position also represents a response to federal priorities expressed in the National Quantum Initiative Act.
The successful candidate will establish and maintain an externally-funded research program, participate in high-impact collaborative research in this field, and contribute to the high-quality teaching program in the Department of Physics, Applied Physics, and Astronomy
This position is part of a faculty cluster hire funded by support from the Simons Foundation designed to stimulate research in the basic sciences across New York State.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must possess a Ph.D. degree or an equivalent foreign qualification in Physics or a closely related field. Postdoctoral experience is highly preferred. Starting Salary/Rate

Position description:
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering welcomes applicants with a commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and mentoring undergraduates in the field of Environmental Engineering. The CEE Department currently has expertise in the areas of water quality, soil and sediment remediation, risk assessment, hydrology, sustainable treatment, water and wastewater management, and contaminant fate and transport processes. We are looking to expand and diversify our areas of focus into areas associated with the broad topic of air (e.g., air quality, climate change, atmospheric interactions, air pollution management, environmental change and adaptation, aerosol-climate interactions, wildfire-atmosphere interactions, wind power meteorology, and/or climate engineering). Experience working directly with communities is a plus. The new hire will teach courses in the curriculum as appropriate, including core classes such as Thermofluids, Introduction to Environmental Engineering and/or Contaminant Fate and Transport, as well as the development and teaching of upper level environmental engineering electives in their area of expertise. In addition, there is an expectation that all new hires in the Department will teach at least one course annually to non-engineers ideally as part of the College's new Complex Questions/Global Challenges and Social Justice common curriculum. The new hire will also be heavily involved in the ABET accreditation process which includes opportunities for curriculum development and assessment.
The successful candidate will also have a strong interest in interdisciplinary collaboration. The CEE department has a close relationship with the Environmental Science, Policy, and Engineering Program. In addition, consistent with Union's goal to break new ground with respect to integrating engineering fields with the liberal arts, we also welcome applicants who are eager to explore joint programming possibilities with departments and programs in the humanities and social sciences.
All candidates must have an earned Ph.D. degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related Engineering field; applicants close to finishing their Ph.D. will be considered. Successful candidates will demonstrate the potential to advance a research program at Union College that involves undergraduates. Preference will also be given to those who have a demonstrated interest in undergraduate teaching. Academic advising and mentoring are important components of the teaching portfolio. The courseload for faculty in the School of Social Welfare is 2 courses per semester. Faculty should be able to teach across all programs [undergraduate and graduate (MSW and Ph.D.)] Teaching includes weekly office hours, syllabi development and revision, development and maintenance of courses in the learning management system (Brightspace), and ongoing professional development in teaching and learning.
Research: Candidates are expected to undertake research, theoretical and/or empirical, and to disseminate that work in appropriate venues (i.e., publications in peer-reviewed journals, scientific and technical reports, and local, state, national, and international conferences). Engaged scholarship may be evidenced in the candidate's research, teaching, or service work. Engaged scholarship entails scholarly outputs that can be directly applied to social problems and issues faced by individuals, local communities, organizations, practitioners, and policymakers; its products will be considered alongside traditional, discovery-based research, engaged teaching, and/or service-oriented scholarly activities.
Service: Candidates are expected to provide service to the school, the university, the community, and/or the profession in support of the missions of the University, the College of Integrated Health Sciences, the School of Social Welfare, and the profession of social work writ large. Level of service is dependent on tenure track rank.

Job Summary
The Department of Biological Sciences at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of AssistantProfessor in Cellular Neuroscience. We seek a passionate and innovative individual in the field of neuroscience, with a particular focus on quantitative and cell/organismal biology, whose research focuses on the use of model systems to understand the fundamental biology of the nervous system, particularly the role of plasticity in the aging brain and the fundamental biology of neurogenerative disease. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated potential to establish a strong externally funded research program and contribute to the teaching mission of the department.
This position is part of a faculty cluster hire funded by support from the Simons Foundation designed to stimulate research in the basic sciences across New York State.
Minimum Qualifications
All candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree, or foreign degree equivalent in biology and/or neuroscience or a closely related field. Postdoctoral experience is required. Candidates for the rank of AssistantProfessor must exhibit promise of future distinction in research, scholarship, and teaching. Specifically, candidates who have the demonstrated potential to establish a strong externally funded research program, primarily in cellular or organismal neuroscience are desired.
All exceptional candidates will be considered, and we especially encourage applications from individuals who will bring both experimental and computational research approaches and skill sets to address fundamental problems in neuroscience. The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering welcomes applicants with a commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and mentoring undergraduates in the field of Civil Engineering. The CEE Department currently possesses expertise in the fields of geotechnical engineering, structural engineering, transportation engineering, water quality and hydrology. We are particularly interested in increasing our capacity in the field of Structural Engineering. The new hire will teach courses in the curriculum as appropriate, including core classes and upper-level courses such as the fundamental theory of structure, as well as electives. In addition, there is an expectation that all new hires in the Department will teach at least one course annually to non-engineers ideally as part of the College's new Complex Questions/Global Challenges and Social Justice common curriculum.
