The Pricing Manager will manage the financial analytics of alternative fee arrangements (AFA) and play an integral role in identifying and implementing solutions that leverages various data sources to improve the firm's matter planning and budgeting operations.
Responsibilities
• Work closely with the Associate Director of Pricing to drive pricing initiatives forward as it relates to the pricing department process improvements, partner education, internal and external communication strategies, materials development, etc.
• Supervise, educate, and mentor the Firm's pricing analysts.
• Monitor the firm's pricing performance and provide guidance on ways to improve pricing outcomes.
• Provide support to partners in their daily pricing activities including provision of fee estimates, decisions regarding what to charge clients, the communication of fees and value including dealing with pricing queries and decisions regarding write-offs.
• Contribute to the preparation of various templates and robust financial pricing models with analyses to help provide partners with projected outcomes for alternative pricing arrangements.
• Develop, negotiate, and implement appropriate fee arrangements that meet both the client's budget and pricing demands and internal firm requirements. Support partners in client pricing conversations.
• Establish pricing metrics that allow the Firm to continually improve both in terms of individual fee proposals and broader pricing team engagements and initiatives.
• Work with Marketing and Business Development group to prepare financial and pricing responses to client RFP (Request for Proposal) submissions.
• Establish a program for developing the pricing competencies of partners and other senior professionals and lead initiatives to enable the firm to communicate the value of its offerings.
• Review of fee arrangements, special provisions, and terms and conditions of client engagements to ensure compliance with firm-wide policies and procedures.
• Track competitive market data and pricing trends by region, practice area, or other relevant differentiators. Stay abreast of current trends and recommend updates to existing pricing models.
• Design and implement effective reporting and systems to assist Partners in monitoring and forecasting client engagements against budget.
