Entry Level Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in Behavioral Science, CRC, or CRSS preferred; one year experience in alcohol/drug treatment with direct patient contact preferred. Candidates must possess the ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate a basic understanding of the principles of chemical dependency recovery. Maintain records and have good communication skills.
1. Must have valid driver's license and good driving record.
2. Must be able to walk within the facility and on the grounds of the facility for approximately one (1) mile per every eight (8) hour shift.
3. Must be able to continuously sit for approximately three (3) hours per eight (8) hour shift.
4. Must be able to administer CPR and be certified.
5. Must be able to see and hear constantly.
6. Must be emotionally and physically capable of functioning under stressful situations.
7. Must be able to stand continuously in increments of 45 minutes to one (1) hour.
8. If recovering, two years of continuous verifiable abstinence.
General Responsibilities:
Behavioral Health Techs are integral in the overall functioning of the facility. In all instances, the Techs will interact with the patient in accordance with established treatment policies and procedures. Techs may facilitate patient orientation, as necessary.
Essential Functions:
1. Assist in luggage and body searches.
2. Monitor and sometimes facilitate the Book Studies and Recovery meetings.
3. Must be aware of patient locations, at all times, circulating around the facility on a regular basis and document hourly checks.
4. Assure that all patients follow the Bradford Program Schedule and are on time for each assignment.
5. Supervise and sometime facilitate patient activities as directed.

a. Be punctual in reporting for scheduled shifts, notifying the supervisor when emergencies or other factors may influence work attendance, early departure, or punctuality. At no time may the CA leave or fail to attend his/her scheduled shift without prior verbal approval from the supervisor. PRN is an as-needed basis.
b. Be flexible and available to work any and all shifts as assigned.
c. Participate in equipping, encouraging, and empowering each resident to be and do all they were created to do while helping them to understand that they were created on purpose, for a purpose.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Interventionist Assistant is responsible for implementing and supporting the interventions by documenting and progress monitoring of academic interventions in compliance with established federal/state/district procedures and timelines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assumes responsibility for the entrance, accuracy, and monitoring of MTSS data related students measured in the following: bottom quartile, Tier 3, EL, and, including but not limited to ensuring data accurately that reflects appropriate action relative to district timelines for MTSS and teacher referrals.
Monitors and evaluates student academic progress at specific intervals (outlined in the HCSD MTSS Handbook) to ensure appropriate academic interventions are in place.
Develop and support academic interventions, instructional resources, error analysis, data interpretation and analysis.
Works with a team to help identify the best practices for individual students and groups of students.
Provide input regarding the development and implementation of an intervention plan.
Supports the design and implementation of quality-differentiated instruction.
Supports the design, development, and implementation of the progress monitoring tool for academic interventions
Collects and disseminates current data on each student identified as at-risk for academic intervention.
Supports with intervention documentation.
Communicates effectively and collaboratively with CIA Coordinators, building administrators, teachers, and students, regarding the prescribed efforts to meet the needs of at-risk students throughout the intervention process.
Attends building and district meetings to promote awareness, communication, and collaboration regarding the process to meet the needs of at-risk students as requested.
Performs other duties as requested or assigned.
Assists in the fostering and promotion of a positive school/office climate.
Maintains a professional demeanor during all interactions between colleagues, students and administration.

About the Role:
The Behavioral Health Technician plays a critical role in supporting individuals with mental health and emotional challenges by providing direct care and assistance under the supervision of clinical staff. This position focuses on, conducting clinical assessments, and ensuring the safety and well-being of patients in various care settings. The technician will actively participate in crisis intervention and management, helping to de-escalate situations and provide immediate support to patients experiencing emotional distress. Additionally, the role involves maintaining accurate clinical documentation and assisting with discharge planning to ensure continuity of care. Ultimately, the Behavioral Health Technician contributes to improving patient outcomes by fostering a therapeutic environment and supporting the multidisciplinary team in delivering comprehensive behavioral health services.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in a related field preferred.
Certification or training in behavioral health, mental health, or related area is required.
Experience working with individuals with mental health disorders, including crisis intervention and patient care.
Ability to maintain clinical documentation accurately and comply with healthcare regulations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and multidisciplinary teams.
Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
If recovering, two (2) years of continuous verifiable sobriety.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, nursing, or a related behavioral health field.
Previous experience in a healthcare or residential treatment setting.
Training or certification in CPR, First Aid, or Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI).
Familiarity with Substance Abuse Disorders (SUD) populations and specialized care approaches.
Knowledge of discharge planning processes and community resource coordination.
Responsibilities:

Conduct clinical assessments and assist in monitoring patient progress according to established treatment plans.
Implement crisis intervention techniques to manage and de-escalate behavioral emergencies effectively and safely.
Maintain thorough and accurate clinical documentation, including progress notes, incident reports, and discharge plans.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and update individualized care plans and discharge strategies.
Assist patients with daily living activities and promote therapeutic engagement within the treatment environment.
Participate in team meetings and communicate patient status and concerns to clinical supervisors.

Minimum Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor's degree and endorsement in the grade/subject taught with a valid Tennessee certificate. Must be highly qualified. Governed by the Rules and Regulations of the Tennessee Code Annotated and the collective bargaining agreement. Must be physically and mentally able to perform the responsibilities and duties of the position.
