Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Carpenter with a strong background in metal stud framing to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made from metal studs, steel components, and other commercial-grade materials across various job sites. Work will include layout, framing, installation of drywall backing and blocking, acoustic ceilings, and other carpentry scopes associated with commercial construction.
Key ResponsibilitiesCarpentry & Framing
Perform metal stud framing, layout, and installation according to blueprints and project specifications.
Install drywall backing, blocking, and related structural components.
Exterior & Specialty Installations
Install metal panel siding and roofing on commercial buildings and schools.
Install flashing, moisture barriers, and other weatherproofing materials.
Cut, fit, and assemble metal materials as required for various scopes.
Steel & Structural Work
Build and install structural steel components per blueprints and engineering specifications.
Use mechanical knowledge to fabricate and assemble metal structures safely and accurately.
Perform machining tasks such as cutting, drilling, and grinding to prepare materials for installation.
Fabrication
Equipment Operation & Material Handling
Safely operate forklifts and other heavy machinery to transport and stage materials.
Use power tools and specialized equipment common to metal framing and steel installation.
Safety & Compliance
Work safely at heights on ladders, scaffolds, lifts, and elevated platforms.
Follow all relevant building codes, industry standards, and company safety procedures.
Participate in site safety meetings and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Qualifications
Proven experience in commercial carpentry with a focus on metal stud framing.
Experience with acoustic ceilings, drywall hanging/finishing, and commercial building systems.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and structural plans.
Skilled in cutting, fitting, and assembling metal components.
Comfortable working at heights and operating heavy equipment.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Obtain customer and manager instructions regarding the type of service requested and provide additional information as appropriate.
Performs the requested service including preparing, cleaning, and repairing the vehicles.
Operates all equipment including vacuum, pressure washer, rotary buffer, dual action polisher, and vapor steam machine extractor in an efficient manner.
Performs detailing as needed and requested including washing, drying, wheel and tire cleaning, clay bar, polishing and protecting paint, leather cleaning and conditioning, upholstery cleaning, carpet cleaning, and paint correction.
Promotes the company's image by uniformed personal appearance, conduct, and communication.
Maintains a neat and orderly work environment.
Maintains all chemicals and materials assigned.
Records accurate information, including stock numbers, vehicle identification numbers, make, model, color of vehicles being serviced as well as the service performed, and provides information to management daily.
Cleans shop area including sweeping, garbage removal, and cleaning floors.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a skilled nonexempt position. Days and hours of work are mostly Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., 40 hours per week with expected overtime. This position requires long hours and some weekend work.
Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be required.
Essential Functions:
Able to drive for long periods and ability to stay alert and drive defensively.
Ability to operate equipment at recommended speeds and peaks of operation.
Must be productive during each shift and be willing to meet the goals that are set.
Visual activity - ability to work safely in traffic and to know surroundings while driving, backing and maneuvering in sometimes congested areas.

The driver may from time to time have to climb in the back of the Dump Truck to clean or loosen hardened materials that will not freely fall out of the truck when the bed is raised.
Knowledge of all USDOT & FMCSA safety regulations.
Perform daily safety checks of fluid levels on oil, water, fuel and inspections for leaks and damage to vehicle prior to operation.
Experience with air brakes and standard transmission.
Maintain completed pre and post trip Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR).
Ability to calculate weights of equipment with truck/trailer combo to stay within DOT permitting restrictions and guidelines.
Knowledge of FMCSA cargo securement rules and regulations.
Required to carry a current medical examiners certificate (FMCSR part 391.41).
Perform incidental work items and duties included within other crafts
Able to work cooperatively with others toward a shared goal, contribute actively to the team efforts, and possess a positive attitude in working with others as a team.
Operate Dump Truck in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage, or loss of life.
Safely operate heavy equipment in and among live traffic, as required.
Wear personal protective equipment.
Follow company quality standards and procedures.
Inspect and prepare equipment for safe and proper operation prior to beginning work for the day; performs light maintenance on equipment, refueling, and refilling lubricants; cleans vehicles, beds, and mounted equipment upon completion of assignments; and secures vehicle after use.
Complete required paperwork including Operator's Daily Report.
Perform manual labor such as digging or shoveling, assisting with placement of pipe and material, or other manual labor duties as assigned.
Perform heavy manual labor for prolonged periods under adverse weather conditions.
Proactively and diplomatically communicate with supervision, peers, other employees, and customers concerning equipment and job-related problems.
Perform additional assignments per Forman's direction.
