The Luck Stone summer internship is an 10-week program designed for college students. The program is focused on quarry operations and includes hands-on training in pit and plant activities, including pit design, haul truck and water truck operation, blasting, primary, secondary, and tertiary plant operation and maintenance, quality control, and sales and dispatch. The program is structured to provide training and experience in each area, with a focus on developing competencies in areas such as equipment operation, safety, planning and prioritization, and maintenance. Ability to calculate weights of equipment with truck/trailer combo to stay within DOT permitting restrictions and guidelines. Knowledge of FMCSA cargo securement rules and regulations. Required to carry a current medical examiners certificate (FMCSR part 391.41). Perform incidental work items and duties included within other crafts Able to work cooperatively with others toward a shared goal, contribute actively to the team efforts, and possess a positive attitude in working with others as a team. Operate Dump Truck in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage, or loss of life. Safely operate heavy equipment in and among live traffic, as required.
