Director of Software Development & Analytics Driving Digital Transformation Across Meritus Health and Academic Medicine The Director of Software Development & Analytics is a senior technology leader responsible for building, scaling, and optimizing Meritus Health's internal development capabilities, analytics ecosystem, and integration architecture across the health system and medical school. This leader will oversee three core teams:
* Software Development - Internal developers delivering custom applications, workflow logic, automations, and AI-enabled solutions
* Enterprise Analytics & Data Science - Analysts, BI developers, and data scientists supporting clinical, operational, academic, and regulatory reporting
* Integration Engineering - Specialists managing interoperability and integrations between Epic and third-party systems (HL7, FHIR, APIs, batch, and emerging data exchange standards)
The director will lead agile planning and sprint execution, establish robust engineering and analytics standards, drive talent development, and serve as the owner of the Enterprise AI Roadmap-ensuring the organization is prepared for the next generation of digital tools, automation, and clinical intelligence. This role is mission-driven and central to Meritus' digital transformation as one of the nation's leading rural health systems and a growing academic medical enterprise.
Education
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field required
* Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Experience
* Seven years of progressively responsible IT experience required
* Minimum of three years of leadership experience preferred
* Strong understanding of modern data architectures (cloud data lakes, streaming, APIs, FHIR), interoperability, and AI/ML fundamentals
* Experience with Epic (data structures, APIs, Cogito, integration patterns) strongly preferred

Develops and produces high level reports such as board reports, annual survey reports, major gift metrics and works with the special event manager to reconcile event income and conducts monthly reconciliation with Finance.
Develops and maintains dashboards to track fundraising progress, campaign performance, donor retention and pipeline activity, as requested, and ensures that data coding supports dashboard accuracy.
Works with the Manager of Major Gifts to ensure that major gift proposals, portfolios and metric reports accurately reflect major gift team activity.
Analyzes donor giving trends and behaviors to identify opportunities for increased engagement and growth.
Process maps - Works with department team members to develop and implement process maps for annual gift, major gift and grateful patient programs and provides data-driven insights to support those areas.
Prepares lists and segmentations for solicitations, stewardship mailings and event invitations.
Develops and manages project timelines.
Conducts periodic review of code tables and coordinates coding adjustments across LBH entities.
Crossed trained in gift processing.
In conjunction with the Director of Operations, provides database review and training for new employees.
Performs mass imports and global changes as needed using Omatic software.
Recommends software training goals for Development team members based on data reviews and audits.
Reviews Blackbaud Community groups to keep abreast of system best practices and solutions to data challenges.

REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor's degree preferred
