Basic Function HF Sinclair in El Dorado, KS is seeking a Fixed Equipment Engineer. This position provides senior-level mechanical engineering support for refinery process units and fixed equipment assets, working independently and serving as a technical resource and lead. Delivers technical guidance for mechanical integrity, inspection, maintenance, pressure equipment, pressure relief systems, and plant reliability initiatives.
Job Duties
* Defines engineering projects by determining objectives, evaluating technical strategies, and providing plant-engineering support to assigned business unit(s).
* Plans and leads engineering work by writing specifications, developing schedules and budgets, and identifying improvements to existing equipment, inspection practices, and mechanical integrity programs.
* Implements engineering solutions by monitoring performance, coordinating with Operations/Inspection/Maintenance, taking corrective actions, updating procedures and reports, and securing materials, supplies, and services.
* Completes projects by delivering final outputs, closing administrative requirements, and evaluating overall project performance, including lessons learned for future inspection, maintenance, and reliability work.
* Analyzes the economics of each project where appropriate; calculates ROI for proposed projects
* Provides engineering documentation, mechanical integrity analysis, operating analysis, and recommendations for management.
* Supports mechanical integrity initiatives, including fixed equipment evaluations, repair plans, inspection scope development, and root-cause investigations.
* Develops and improves procedures for inspection, maintenance, and engineering tasks to enhance consistency, effectiveness, and compliance with applicable standards.
* Collaborates with multi-disciplinary teams (Operations, Maintenance, Inspection, Process) to prioritize and execute reliability and mechanical integrity improvements.
Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.
Experience
A minimum of eight years of progressive work experience in a specific engineering discipline and project management experience is required. Emphasis on plant or refinery engineering, fixed equipment and/or mechanical integrity is required.
Preferred Experience
Professional Engineer registration, refinery or petrochemical industry experience, some or all of FCC, CCR, Alky, Sulfur unit, Delayed Coking, Lubes Processing and hydro-treating experience for Chemical discipline depending on assignment are all preferred.
Education Level
A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in engineering discipline is required.
Required Skills
Technical expert in area of specialty. Advanced ability to stay abreast of new technology developments and processes and apply knowledge analytically. Strong knowledge of Microsoft products and commonly used engineering concepts and experience with engineering software. Familiarity with standards and practices of the specific discipline. Ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication, advanced reading and writing skills, with the ability to perform advanced mathematical calculations.
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility

Work Conditions
Office and plant based with up to 20% travel by land and air required. Petroleum refinery, warehouse/plant environment, and out-of-doors environment including but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, tanks, rotating equipment, wet and/or oil contaminated conditions, at both below grade and elevated positions, and working in confined spaces. 8. Follow USP 800 guidelines for Hazardous Material handling. Complete required training.
9. Restock and reorder medications in the department. Accurately and adequately order from the wholesaler. Check in and scan the order from the wholesaler. Correct bar code information and NDC numbers in the computer as needed.
10. Perform the regular station inspections. Remove outdated medications from Pyxis or other locations. Check code carts and other "kits" for outdates.
11. Monitor pharmacy shortages and recalls. Work with Pharmacy Director to find replacement products.
12. Assist in taking inventory.
13. Package bulk medications into unit dose containers and keep accurate records of re-packaging. Maintain packaging machine.
14. Fill employee prescriptions, both for regular prescription and over the counter medications. Run required daily reports. Send KTRACS report daily. Run prescriptions for department purchases and external sales.
15. Assist Pharmacist with medication reconciliations.
16. Do tech-check-tech for non-judgmental pharmacy tasks, such as Pyxis fills, OR cart, etc.
17. Assist in any other clerical duties assigned by the department manager.
18. Maintain confidentiality of information concerning patient, medical staff, other employees, job applicants and the hospital itself. (As per Confidentiality Policy).
19. Responsible for one or more of the following, as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager:
a. Pyxis Specialist: Responsible for Pyxis set-up, optimizing Pyxis, and monitoring Pyxis use. Schedule required updates and assist with maintenance. Monitor controlled substance use throughout facility using Pyxis reports.
b. Meditech Specialist: Responsible to assist in ongoing task resolution and for testing before each upgrade. Work with Accounting and Billing Departments to ensure correct pharmacy charges.
c. Buyer Specialist: Meet with drug reps, take phone calls from salespeople, monitor drug shortages and identify and order replacements to maintain needed inventory. Notify Pharmacists of shortages to obtain direction for possible alternatives. Responsible for coordinating outdates and pharmaceutical waste disposal. Responsible for pre-booking and returning flu vaccine.
d. USP Specialist (USP 797 & 800): Act as USP 797 and USP 800 enforcer. Responsible for facility-wide testing being completed and documented within a required timeframe. Responsible to communicate timeframes and requirements for competencies and review documentation to assure competencies are completed by pharmacy personnel and others throughout facility.
20. As assigned by Pharmacy Manager: Function as mentor with new technicians, technician students and pharmacy students. Monitor orientation checklist completion.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to read, write clearly, and type accurately.
Education: High School graduate or equivalent. Must be certified (CPhT).
Experience: Must have worked as a Pharmacy Technician II for at least one (1) year in this facility and be proficient in at least one expanded roll. See Essential Function Items 19. (a) through 19. (d) above.
Certification/Licensure: Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with Kansas Board of Pharmacy is required prior to first day of employment. CPhT certification is required.
