POSITION PURPOSE

Job Description
StructSure Projects is currently seeking General Carpenter(s) / Laborer(s) for our job at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. This position will handle carpentry and laborer duties on a job site. CONSTRUCTION EXPERIENCE ON GOVERNMENT PROJECTS REQUIRED.
Our construction jobs are usually located on government military bases; therefore, in order to perform your duties, you must be granted access to the jobsite location on the government bases. The government will authorize base access by running a background screening and ensuring possession of a valid, current driver's license. Due to this, anyone working in this position must have a clean background check and a valid, current driver's license. The position reports to either the jobsite foreman and/or the site superintendent.
This position is covered under the Davis-Bacon Act. Prevailing wage rates and fringe benefits will apply and will be paid in accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor wage determination assigned to this project.
RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS:
• General carpentry and labor to include basic wall construction, door hardware, miscellaneous accessory installation, maintenance and clean up (including sweeping and mopping), casework installation.
• Assist the site management staff as directed.
• Ensure safety and infection control standards are followed.
SKILLS, ABILITIES, EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
• Attended trade school, such as carpentry.
• Experience as a carpenter for healthcare construction projects; 3 years minimum.
• Self-driven and dependable.
• Finished work is of high quality and uses general carpentry principles to perform work.
• Knowledge of the construction industry.
• Above average communication skills.
• Able to read and interpret blueprints.
• Familiar with infection control and adheres to infection control standards.

PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to navigate through a construction site for extended periods. The construction site may include construction equipment of all sizes such as bulldozers, cranes, backhoes, trucks, etc.
• Ability to perform manual labor, lifting and moving equipment, ascend and descend scaffolds and ladders, work at heights, maintain balance in all situations.
• Have full range of mobility in upper and lower body.
• Ability to hold, handle, and operate / manipulate several objects and materials.
• Ability to communicate in person and discern direction.
• Ability to distinguish colors is needed for crane operators, transport drivers, and operators of powder actuated equipment.
• Ability to utilize depth perception, coordinate movements of eyes, hands, fingers, and feet.
• While performing the duties of this job, employee is exposed to a fast-changing working environment and changing weather conditions. Work is performed in hospitals where employees could come in contact with persons with diseases and contagious illnesses. The employee can also be regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions and high noise levels. The employee may also be exposed to rough and uneven terrain.

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Carpenter with a strong background in metal stud framing to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made from metal studs, steel components, and other commercial-grade materials across various job sites. Work will include layout, framing, installation of drywall backing and blocking, acoustic ceilings, and other carpentry scopes associated with commercial construction.
Key ResponsibilitiesCarpentry & Framing
Perform metal stud framing, layout, and installation according to blueprints and project specifications.
Install drywall backing, blocking, and related structural components.
Exterior & Specialty Installations
Install metal panel siding and roofing on commercial buildings and schools.
Install flashing, moisture barriers, and other weatherproofing materials.
Cut, fit, and assemble metal materials as required for various scopes.
Steel & Structural Work
Build and install structural steel components per blueprints and engineering specifications.
Use mechanical knowledge to fabricate and assemble metal structures safely and accurately.
Perform machining tasks such as cutting, drilling, and grinding to prepare materials for installation.
Fabrication
Equipment Operation & Material Handling
Safely operate forklifts and other heavy machinery to transport and stage materials.
Use power tools and specialized equipment common to metal framing and steel installation.
Safety & Compliance
Work safely at heights on ladders, scaffolds, lifts, and elevated platforms.
Follow all relevant building codes, industry standards, and company safety procedures.
Participate in site safety meetings and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Qualifications
Proven experience in commercial carpentry with a focus on metal stud framing.
Experience with acoustic ceilings, drywall hanging/finishing, and commercial building systems.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and structural plans.
Skilled in cutting, fitting, and assembling metal components.
Comfortable working at heights and operating heavy equipment.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Certifications (Not Required)
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
Forklift or aerial lift certification
Rigging or signaling certification
