The program will continue to be a 16 week part-time or full-time opportunity temporary positions with potential after graduation to regular, benefited opportunities in various U.S. CDM Smith Locations that available.
Our Reboot Program is focused on helping STEM professionals that have left their careers restart their journey! This 16 week full time program will have you working on real projects, give you access to our online professional development tools, provide mentorship and peer guidance on both technical skills and company adaptation.
Openings will be based on workload and matched to qualified candidates in any of our CDM Smith US locations.

**Job Description**
We are seeking an Electrical Technical Expert to join our Data Center team and serve as the subject matter expert on hyperscale, mission-critical campus and facility electrical systems. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment and is passionate about supporting project teams with deep technical expertise.
You will be the go-to resource for electrical design strategy, QA/QC oversight, and technical mentorship across high-impact data center projects. Your work will directly influence the reliability, scalability, and innovation of our electrical systems supporting hyperscale clients.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Serve as the technical lead for electrical systems in hyperscale and/or colocation data center projects, including power distribution, switchgear, UPS systems, and emergency power.
+ Provide expert-level guidance on design standards, code compliance (NEC, NFPA, IEEE), and commissioning protocols.
+ Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and external partners to ensure technical excellence and alignment with client goals.
+ Mentor and support engineering teams, offering technical reviews, troubleshooting, and strategic input.
+ Lead QA/QC processes and ensure all deliverables meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.
+ Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in mission-critical infrastructure and integrate them into project strategies.

FEMA - Program Delivery Specialist

The Disaster Program Delivery Specialist: - Collects, coordinates and/or reviews applicant data to determine eligibility and priority of assignments to include but not limited to: audits for completeness, reviews information gathered during the Preliminary Damage Assessment (PDA) for assigned applicants, completes exploratory calls to gather information from applicants, and understands each applicants' projects and recovery priorities.
- Supports the communication process with the applicant about their status by scheduling regular meetings, tracking and following up with the applicants on FEMA's requests. Coordinates transmittal of documents through FEMA's Consolidated Resource Centers utilizing a web-based tool, schedules site inspections with the applicants and Site Inspector Task Force Leader and identifies when technical expertise may be needed throughout the program delivery process.
- Supports the claims process by reviewing and validating damage details, scopes of work, and costs with the applicant. Participates in regular FEMA meetings by providing updates on work status and may evaluate claims and make recommendations to FEMA as to whether the claim is eligible. Assists with the development of the Determination Memo and communicating final determinations to the applicants during close out. Conducts an exit briefing with the applicant. Performs other duties as required.
- May coordinate and complete basic to moderately complex site inspections to validate and record damage to assist in the FEMA Public Assistance grant delivery process.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain a FEMA Badge, which includes a background investigation for a Public Trust position.

Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline. Professional engineering (PE) license. 7 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

**Skills and Abilities:**
Expert Knowledge of computer assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices. Expert Knowledge of engineer principles of design. Expert Knowledge of Microsoft business software (excel, word, etc.). Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Expert knowledge of federal, state and local regulations.

$158,579
**Additional Compensation:**
All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
