Job Summary The Registered Pharmacy Technician functions under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist/Pharmacy Manager and is responsible for the accurate preparation of prescriptions for verification by the Pharmacist on duty and maintaining the workflow of the pharmacy including cashiering and the accurate release of prescriptions at will call. (EHR) of patients to find relevant information necessary for prescription processing Review prescriptions issued by physicians or other authorized prescribers to assure accuracy, appropriateness, and determine formulas and ingredients needed Compounds medications, using standard formulas and processes such as weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients under the supervision of the pharmacist Ensure that all control drug policies and procedures as required by state, federal, and organizational guidelines are followed Performs troubleshooting functions for third-party discrepancies and other prescription filling issues Answer the telephone and assist patients at the front counter as well as through curbside pickup (when applicable) to maintain the workflow of the pharmacy Utilize the phone language translation service to communicate with patients that speak another language Responsible for maintaining a current and valid license as required by state, federal, and pharmacy guidelines Maintain contact with providers, clinical support staff, and administrative staff to determine needs, resolve problems, improve processes, and promote effective drug therapy Stay current
