This position is responsible for ensuring the production of safe, high-quality food products in compliance with regulatory, customer, and company standards. This role leads the facility's food safety and quality programs, oversees compliance with HACCP, FSMA, and GFSI requirements, and provides leadership to QA and sanitation teams to maintain continuous improvement in quality systems and plant hygiene.
Essential Functions
Quality Assurance & Compliance
Manage and maintain the plant's Quality Management System (QMS) to meet internal, customer, and third-party audit requirements.
Oversee daily QA operations including product testing, process verification, and documentation review.
Lead and coordinate internal, customer, and regulatory audits (FDA, USDA, State, GFSI).
Investigate non-conformances, implement root cause analysis, and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
Ensure compliance with labeling, allergen control, and traceability requirements.
Maintain accurate and complete quality and production records in compliance with regulatory standards.
Food Safety & HACCP
Serve as the plant's PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual).
Oversee implementation, verification, and validation of food safety programs including HACCP, FSMA Preventive Controls, environmental monitoring, and supplier verification.
Lead the Food Safety Team and ensure effective communication of food safety objectives across departments.
Monitor trends in microbiological results, environmental swabs, and product testing to proactively identify risks.
Leadership & Training
Develop and deliver employee training on GMPs, food safety, allergen control, sanitation, and quality awareness.
Promote a culture of food safety and continuous improvement throughout the facility.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Maintenance, and Sanitation teams to ensure alignment with quality objectives.

Work Environment
This job operates in a plant environment and office. Embark on a fulfilling career at BNSF Railway, where joining our Engineering Department means contributing to the backbone of our nation's rail infrastructure. As a member of our Track Maintenance Team, you'll play a vital role in constructing, inspecting, and repairing tracks and other railroad assets and maintaining our railway corridors.
This is a full-time (40hrs/wk) position and is subject to on-call, overtime, nights, alternating shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Travel is required to (and remain at) job sites for extended periods, sometimes for days or weeks at a time, in the designated seniority region.
Residency Requirement: Maintenance of Way employees must reside within their hired district for the duration of employment. Employees are required to:
* Maintain residency within the hired district or within 50 miles of a designated BNSF depot serving that district.
* Notify and obtain written approval from BNSF before any change of residence outside of the hired district.
* Failure to comply may result in:
* Loss of travel pay benefits

Training for this position is company-paid on-the-job and classroom training and will include travel to the BNSF Training Center.
Key responsibilities may include:
Track Maintenance Repair and Installation; repair and rebuild railroad track as well as perform maintenance by pulling spikes, cutting, welding, or drilling rail. This also includes maintaining a clean right of way by removing hazards such as brush, trees, vegetation, litter, and cargo spillage.
Maintain Track-bed which includes manually compressing ballast, remove/install ties and replacing, cutting, and adjusting rail in addition to lifting and carrying materials with assistance.
Operate Equipment which includes using power hand tools such as electric, pneumatic, or hydraulic as well as non-powered hand tools.
* Examples of tools used: drills, impact wrenches, jacks, power saws, grinders, shovels, picks, and saws.
Truck Driver and Maintenance duties include operation of 26K+ lb trucks and ensure proper truck and equipment maintenance and record keeping.
Welder duties include welding, grinding, and cutting rail, learning, understanding, and following BNSF welding procedures as well as maintaining records and time sheets. In addition to operating welding trucks safely and efficiently, taking proper precautions to reduce fire risks, responsibilities may also include ordering material which includes welding supplies, grinding stones, reports, and safety.
Daily work is conducted in a safety sensitive environment where the working conditions can include diverse and extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet), walking and performing work on uneven surfaces, working around loud noises, fumes, and heavy/moving machinery.
