Seabury history

Since its founding in 1996, Seabury Capital has historically been the investment holding company of its founder, John E. Luth, operating as a venture capital firm with ownership stakes in software and asset management businesses servicing the aviation and travel industries.

Financial difficulties continued and the Partnership filed Chapter 11 in 1997.

The Recreation, Hotel and Development divisions were sold to American Realty, one of many businesses owned by Carl Icahn, international financier (the sale finalized September 1998). Burden retained the general brokerage division, the New Seabury Marina and the Popponesset Marketplace.

Plans to continue the Master Plan, which would include over 600 residential units and an 150 room hotel were stalled when Mashpee Conservation Commission filed a Jurisdictional Determination request with the Cape Cod Commission December 2000.

Morozov joined Seabury FXOne in 2013 and brings knowledge of algorithmic trading, efficiency analysis for proprietary trading platforms and experience in foreign currency markets.

Naoya joined Seabury Global Markets as Japan Representative in November 2015.

After several years of debate, in 2017 the university announced that the name of Calhoun College, one of the original residential colleges, would be changed to Hopper College, after the 20th-century mathematician, naval officer, and Yale alumna Grace Hopper.
