TWIN PEAKS - JANITOR / BUSSER GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB This job requires the Twin Peaks Janitor, Busser to clean and maintain the Twin Peaks restaurant. Each team member is defined by pride, extreme standards, and discipline when it comes to keeping his/her restaurant clean and sanitized. THE UNIFORM * Clean TP black hat facing forward at all times. Brim never bent. * Hair must be kept clean. All hair must be kept underneath the TP hat. * Clean shaven. Beards & mustaches are allowed, but must be maintained. * Fingernails must be kept trimmed. * Jewelry is not allowed to be worn in ears, face, around the neck or wrists. * Head phones or ear buds are not to be worn. * Clean non-faded/wrinkled TP kitchen shirt tucked in. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The duties and responsibilities of a Twin Peaks Janitor / Busser include, but are not limited to: * Adhering to uniform standards * Adhering to policies and procedures that maintain a clean and sanitized restaurant * Maintain clean and organized stations and equipment * Ensure HOH Standards, Safety and Sanitation, and GHS requirements are followed at all times * Ability to work as a team * Train using tablets or computer * Ability to work in a fast paced environment * Any other duty/responsibility that management may deem necessary * Assisting with opening and closing duties of the restaurant included, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, cleaning tables, etc. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Proven experience as a Janitor Busser. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to communicate in English. Must be able understand the policies and procedures used to clean and sanitize a restaurant. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must attend orientation and agree to policies and procedures as outlined in the Twin Peaks training. Must attend and successfully complete the training program prior to working a shift without supervision. Must successfully attend and complete any and all other required training in compliance with local and state regulations, such as food and/or alcohol service certifications. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are the representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. While performing the duties of this role, the janitor busser is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or carry objects, product, or controls; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this role include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this role. While performing the duties of this role, the janitor busser is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles from the kitchen. Some Twin Peaks have smoking sections for guests and therefore janitor bussers may be exposed to cigarette or cigar smoke. Clean and service rooms, baths, and offices; dust furniture and equipment; clean windows, window sills, light globes; empty trash baskets and remove trash; clean and polish bathtubs, sinks, mirrors, and similar items; replenish supplies of soap and towels; clean and polish brass, glass panels, doors, partitions, and paneling; check and fill all dispensers - hand soap, paper. Clean, mop, and treat floors; strip, wax, and buff floors as needed. Vacuum all carpet; shampoo carpet as directed. Mix/dilute housekeeping chemicals and products according to instructions. Move furniture as needed in accordance with safety policies and procedures. Make minor repairs and adjustments; replace light bulbs; repair clogged sinks, commodes, or drains. Assist dietary unit as needed with set ups, clean up, policing spills during meals, etc. Keep utility storage rooms in good order by cleaning lockers and equipment, arranging supplies, and sweeping and mopping floor. Organize and maintain linen closets in a safe and orderly condition at all times. Report issues of department equipment when it is not in good working condition in accordance with manufacturer's operational standards. Detect and correct, or report, hazardous conditions that have a possibility of causing accidents or injuries to residents, employees, or visitors. Observe and report resident symptoms, reactions, and changes and report to the director or other appropriate personnel as necessary. Maintain compliance with all Buckner policies, procedures and requirements. Maintain compliance with all state and federal laws and regulatory requirements. Work successfully as part of a team and responsible for developing then maintaining strong working relationships with co-workers. Attend and participate in staff meetings and training as required. Perform special assignments, projects, and other duties as required. Sort all dirty laundry by kind in accordance with established procedures. Help fold and dry clean linen as directed. Pick up laundry from various floors/locations.     Custodian/Custodian Floater EXEMPTION STATUS: Non-exempt REPORTS TO: Maintenance Department/Assigned Campus TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 Months HOURLY SALARY RANGE: Minimum $11.80, Midpoint $14.75, Maximum $17.70 Primary Purpose: Follow routine cleaning and maintenance procedures to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of building operations and grounds. Qualifications: Education/Certification High school diploma or GED, preferred Special Knowledge/Skills Ability to read and understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures Knowledge of minor repair techniques and building and grounds maintenance Ability to operate cleaning equipment and lift heavy equipment Ability to properly handle cleaning supplies Experience: None Major Responsibilities and Duties: Cleaning Maintain a cleaning schedule that will include cleaning of floors, chalkboards, marker boards, wastebaskets, windows, furniture, equipment, and restrooms. Keep school building and grounds neat and clean, including: sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and play areas. Assist in maintaining an inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment and request additional supplies as needed. Maintenance and Repair Regulate heat, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to provide appropriate temperatures and ensure economical usage of fuel, water, and electricity. Make minor building repairs as needed and report major repair needs to principal. Assist with cafeteria and other room set up, including moving and arranging tables, chairs, and equipment as directed by principal. Assist in setting up facilities for special events. Perform preventive maintenance to ensure the comfort, health, and safety of students and staff. Security and Safety Assist with opening and closing building each school day. Secure assigned keys. Follow established procedures for locking, checking, and safeguarding facilities. Check daily to ensure that all exit doors are open and all panic bolts are working properly during occupancy hours. Comply with local laws and procedures for storage and disposal of trash and chemicals. Inspect machines and equipment for safety and efficiency. Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures. Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties. Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately. Professional Growth and Development Participate in professional learning activities, staff meetings, and special events as assigned. Communication Articulate the district's mission to the community.
