This position is responsible for monitoring a variety of batch "jobs" that run on the mainframe. The ideal candidate will be one that has worked as a Mainframe ComputerOperator on an MVS, OS/390 system monitoring jobs, resolving job abends, modifying JCL code or at least reading it a bit to troubleshoot the abend, and using scheduling software, preferably Control-M. Serve as a liaison between technical developers and production support in a client server and mainframe computer environment. Perform scheduling requests and job submissions for developers and customers. Monitor and analyze complex job flows between client server and mainframe. Ability to identify potential or exisitng scheduling problems. Ability to work independently, as well as with Development, TSS, and other CPS staff; strong team player. Ability to work between multiple environments--i.e. Acceptance & Production. Problem resolution skills--working alone and with Development/CPS staff as necessary. Provide detailed documentation of problems using Tivoli. Change, update, review job documentation. Perform functional testing. Ability to create ChangeMan packages (mainframe). Maintain AJS best practices, perform Quality Assurance (QA) checks on all new jobs.

You will pick up parts daily from the assigned Fed Ex or UPS store for your territory before going onsite. Once all calls are completed for the day drop off the old parts with the pre-paid label that is provided.

About The Navys Advanced Electronics / Computer Field (AECF) offers extensive training in electronics, computer systems, radar, communications, and weapons fire control systems, including the Navys advanced missile systems and Aegis radar. These technicians are essential to the ships Combat Systems department, ensuring readiness for combat operations across the fleet.
Responsibilities
As an Electronics Technician (ET) or Fire Controlman (FC), you may:
Maintain and repair radar, communication, and navigation equipment.
Operate, maintain, and repair fire control radars, mainframe computers, large screen displays, LANs, weapon control consoles, and automatic gun systems.
Troubleshoot and repair electro-mechanical systems used in weapons systems.
Support combat systems readiness aboard aircraft carriers, Aegis cruisers, and other surface ships.
Work Environment
ETs and FCs serve on fleet units worldwide and at shore-based repair facilities. Expect assignments aboard ships, at remote stations, and in technical repair shops. Work is highly technical, requiring precision and teamwork.

FC Strand Great Lakes, IL (16 weeks)
ET Strand Great Lakes, IL (22 weeks) Training covers electronics theory, radar systems, communications suites, missile and gun system ballistics, troubleshooting, and fiber optics. After A School, technicians may attend advanced C Schools. College credits are often available for Navy training.

+ **Documentation & Reporting** : Accurately complete all required paperwork, including IPPHs and quality records. Communicate with QA as needed.
+ **Packaging & Production Support** : Perform packaging tasks and assist with setup of other machines to ensure efficient operations.
+ **Workplace Organization** : Maintain a clean, organized, and clutter-free work environment following 6S procedures.
+ **Team Collaboration** : Participate in WCOM teams and support additional projects or tasks as assigned.
