Opportunity Summary The responsibility of a Systems Operator is to prioritize, manage, analyze and coordinate the operation of power generating units with power marketing organizations and plant personnel including the shutdown and return of power generating units in addition to monitoring and coordinating operation with owners of transmission facilities. Operates the Utility Control System (UCS) computers and associated equipment located in the hospital's communication room and the Central Energy Plant's control room. Through the UCS, monitors, interprets, analyzes and controls the various connected building systems to manage the most reliable and efficient building operations. Primary Job Functions: * Serves as the initial point of contact for the Facilities Department for all the building occupants to report maintenance requirements and inputs these requests into the facility's computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). * Assigns urgent and emergency work to the appropriate trade worker(s) and distributes routine work orders to the supervisors or individual trade lead. * Assist staff technicians in monitoring and analyzing the proper operation of the HVAC system (heating, cooling and airflow throughout the hospital). * Reports abnormal building system conditions to the appropriate supervisor or trade lead. * Make all necessary changes to work orders in the CMMS and close work orders upon task completion. * Monitors all centrally monitored alarm systems that track power availability, temperature controls, and pressure requirements.
