Role Summary: The Sr. Technician role at Roskam Foods is an opportunity for an individual with strong mechanical and electrical aptitude to use these skills on a daily basis in support of the engineering and manufacturing operations. Working in the Engineering Department, this role plays a critical part in helping design, acquire, install, qualify, and support production startup for multi-million dollar production equipment and lines. Additional responsibilities include supporting existing equipment through Continuous Improvement activities, and working cross-functionally with the Operations and Maintenance teams. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Demonstrated technical knowledge and hands-on skills across a wide range of manufacturing equipment, including utility and facility requirements. Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills demonstrated through the use of data and root cause analysis techniques, including competence in explaining to others. Competence to look at and understand Floor Designs and drawings, process flow diagrams, exploded equipment views, machinery manuals, and parts diagrams. Direct experience with AutoCAD or viewing programs, with ability to navigate and determine required information. Good communication skills with peers, leadership, and cross-functionally throughout the organization. Ability to be flexible and adapt to new tasks and projects in a dynamic and changing role. Naturally apply teamwork and effectiveness in accomplishing goals with a broader team. Self-starter and motivated to complete tasks, with minimal supervision and oversight. No hesitancy to communicate at all levels across the organization. Direct and work with suppliers and contractors to complete work maintaining safety, GMP requirements, and high standards for fit/finish. Strong knowledge and background within the food industry preferred. Solid capability to use Microsoft Office programs, primarily: Word, Excel, and Outlook. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma, Technical degree or equivalent preferred 5+ years of experience in a highly functioning maintenance or mechanic role.
