Become the Quality/Risk Director you've always aspired to be
Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, accrediting bodies, corporate and hospital policies, and procedures. Develop, implement, and maintain quality assessment and improvement programs.
Assess compliance with federal, state, and industry regulatory and accreditation standards, facilitating processes to remediate and/or maintain compliance. Provide organizational education related to regulations and standards and coordinate local, state, federal, and accreditation surveys.
Use a variety of applications (including, but not limited to, PatCom, UDS, ORYX, and Press Ganey) to identify improvement opportunities, generate reports, research issues, identify resources, and access external databases.
Ensure the update and maintenance of hospital plans, including the Provision of Care/Scope of Services, Leadership, Information Management, Utilization Review, Infection Control, and Patient Safety plans. Oversee risk management activities, including completion of incident reports, notice of potential claims, corrective action planning, and incident reporting to the Corporate Risk Manager.
Coordinate the review, development, and implementation of hospital policies.
Communicate and collaborate with other departments to coordinate care and promptly resolve patient concerns or complaints.

Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in healthcare or a related field is preferred.
License or Certification as required by state regulations.
Experience in Quality and/or Risk Management, including primary responsibility for performance improvement activities, regulatory compliance, conflict resolution, leadership, and risk management activities.

The hiring amount for this position is $19.00 or $19.50 an Hour ($39,520.00 or $40,560.00 Annually). Starting offer is based on applicable education, experience, and internal equity. * Continuously monitors and observes actions of swimmers and enforces water safety rules and pool rules;
* Provides emergency lifesaving services to swimmers in need;
* Takes part in training programs to improve lifesaving skills;
* Reports all guest and employee situations to supervisor immediately;
* Cleans the pool and related facilities on a regular schedule;
* Informs management of needed supplies or equipment-related issues;
* Follows all service standards and departmental policies and procedures;
* May give swimming instructions to individuals or groups;
* Responsible for the oversight of cash handling in the absence of management;
* Assists with the management and maintenance of the facility, acting as manager on duty as required;
* Performs related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Must be 17 years or older by employment start date.
* Minimum of three (3) months of experience with Charlottesville Parks and Recreation in a Lifeguard I position OR minimum of six (6) months of lifeguarding experience at other facilities.
* Must possess a current Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
* Any combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job.
* Must be available to work varied shifts including weeknights, weekends and holidays
* Must pass periodic CPR audits.
* Must complete training with Charlottesville Parks and Recreation to include but not limited to: in-service training, sexual harassment prevention training, water testing, chemical handling, cash handling, paperwork management and reporting.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Certification in Oxygen Administration and Preventing Disease Transmission and Waterpark Skills Module is preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to accurately evaluate aquatic situations and facility needs and make recommendations to management; ability to evaluate and communicate effectively with staff and assist lifeguards in improving performance; thorough knowledge of water safety rules and of life saving and first aid practices and techniques; general knowledge of the cleaning and maintenance requirements for large pools and related equipment and supplies preferred; considerable skill and strength in swimming; ability to enforce rules and regulations; ability to remain calm under pressure/stress.
Physical requirements of this position as outlined by the Department of Labor: MEDIUM: work involves exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, or an amount greater than negligible and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
This position may be required to work weekends, nights, holidays, stand-by/on-call and/or weather-related emergency on-call.
This is a safety sensitive position subject to drug and alcohol testing for pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, post-accident and random testing.
Position may require driving a City-owned vehicle and is subject to the vehicle use policy and procedures.
The majority of time spent in this position involves outside work which may involve extreme temperatures, extreme brightness, chemicals/hazardous waste, gases/gas leaks, blood-borne pathogens, acidic or harsh substances, infectious bacteria and/or fumes/airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
