Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for tying or assisting with tying material onto racks with wire or chain for safe movement through the galvanizing process.
Use wire to tie material to bow racks, universal racks, or other tooling to prepare for the pickling tanks using specific training methods for the galvanizing process.
Use rope to lift and prepare material for the pickling tanks using specific training methods for galvanizing process.
Operates and visually inspects all equipment (i.e. forklifts, cranes, tooling, etc.) prior to usage to ensure no maintenance is needed.
Learns to rack a variety of materials by assisting others.
Racks, unracks or cleans material in order as directed.
May learn to use a torch to dry materials before hot dipping.
May clean material using a grinder, file, or brush as specified by the customer.
Inspects material for sags, runs, drips, bare spots and reports it to management.

Purpose:
The Junior Pet Stylist's primary purpose is to learn how to perform the following services: bathing, drying, brushing, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and gland cleaning, alongside seasoned groomers. Essential Job Functions:
The incumbent must be able to consistently perform all the following duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.
* Under close supervision of experienced groomers, perform limited grooming services including bathing, drying, nail trimming, brushing, ear cleaning, and gland cleaning according to the pet parents' instructions and in adherence to company policies and procedures
* Ensure the well-being and safety of every animal in the salon at all times
* Interact professionally and effectively with pet parents, provide optimal customer service, address grooming related inquiries and provide timely resolution

Training Program Outline:
* Weeks 1-3: Learning and On-the-Job Training
* Learn dog behavior, pet and self-safety, proper check-in/out procedures, customer service, grooming policies, and begin on-the-job training in bathing and drying techniques
* Weeks 3-10: Performing and Achieving Productivity
* Perform bathing and walk-in services while achieving weekly productivity goals
Education/Experience:
* 0-1 year of animal related experience, including shelter volunteering or pet sitting, prior grooming salon assistance is preferred
* High-school diploma or GED is preferred, though not required
* Genuine passion for animals and a desire to pursue a career in pet grooming
* Basic understanding of dog breeds, behavior, and common grooming practices
* Capable of handling pets of all sizes and temperaments with care and empathy
* Effective verbal and written communication skills for interactions with pet parents and grooming team members
* Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays, as required by the Pet Care Center's grooming schedule
Work Environment:
The majority of job duties are conducted indoors in the grooming salon. Position requires bending, kneeling, lifting (up to 30 pounds, as necessary) and standing for long periods of time. Position may require exposure to heights using a two-step ladder or other support tools, such as vacuums, to perform assigned cleaning and maintenance duties. A large amount of this partner's time will be spent in direct contact with our pet parents and their dogs, and the remaining time will be with the other salon partners. The work environment can be noisy and wet.

JOB PURPOSE:
Under the direct supervision of the assigned supervisor, the School Age Care Staff is responsible for working directly with children. School Age Care Staff play an integral role in the development of building strong character values in youth. The staff at all times is representative of the philosophy, mission and goal of the YMCA and its School Age Care program. Staff may be asked at any time to work at a variety of locations. There will be a direct focus on member retention, member recruitment, safety, and customer service. All staff must strive to work cooperatively with fellow employees to achieve the goals and objectives of the YMCA.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (not a complete list):
Interpret and administer all policies established by the YMCA, to all members, participants, employees, etc.
Acknowledge and greet each member and child entering School Age Care facility.
Interact with children through School Age Care programmed crafts and activities.
Use positive behavior management techniques when disciplining children.
Ensure the safety of children while in School Age Care
Be punctual and dependable for shifts assigned on monthly schedule by supervisor.
Promote member incentive programs each branch offers, such as Parents' Night Out and Day Camps.
Perform all duties with Honesty, Caring, Respect and Responsibility, YMCA's national core values.
Consistently communicate with supervisor regarding cleanliness and safety of facility.
Report problems, complaints, or concerns of members/participants to supervisor immediately.
Requirements
Required:
At least 16 years of age
Minimum 6 months experience working with ages 6 weeks - 12 years.
Desire to work with children.
Available to work M-F, 7am-9am and 3pm-6pm
Understand the nature of the YMCA as a membership organization.
Preferred:

High school degree or GED.
Excellent oral communication skills.
