Dental assistants work with dental providers and team other members in the dental practice. They are expected to always behave in a professional manner and work collaboratively with assigned providers. It is the dental assistant's responsibility to learn specific providers methods and procedure flow. It is a dental assisting best practice to keep and maintain a document of ‘Provider Workflow' and review/revise as needed. Because of the significance of the role during patient care, the dental assistant must remain professional during all patient interactions (written communication (email), verbal communication etc.). He/she must also have an excellent grasp on common dental procedures and be able to answer patient questions.
Dental Assistant Duties:
Assist dentist/hygienists during dental treatment procedures.
Assist dentist/hygienists with typical procedures such as taking X-rays, taking vitals, updating patient medical history, charting, intra oral photos, and assisting with any other clinical procedures up to their legal ability.
Assisting with operatory setup, breakdown, maintenance, or other preparation of rooms and equipment & instruments daily
Understand the supply ordering process
Keeping assigned operatories stocked and patient ready
Sterilization of instruments
Disinfection of operatories in accordance with OSHA standards
Proper documentation of patient demographics on lab prescription
Manage lab cases for assigned dentist
Provide post operative instructions
Post-op follow-up calls to patients
Enter patient chart notes in software
Manage unscheduled patient lists, contact and schedule patients during down time
Maintain neat and organized clinical common areas (sterilization area, lab, operatories etc.)
Manage daily patient schedule to ensure provider stays on time

**Minimum Qualifications**

Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items.
Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.

River Valley Family Health Centers is looking for experienced Medical Assistants to join our clinics in Montrose or Delta Counties.
The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in delivering compassionate, patient-centered care in a community clinic environment. This position supports healthcare providers by performing both clinical and administrative duties to ensure efficient and effective patient care. A day in the life of a Medical Assistant includes:
Rooming each patient, taking and documenting vital signs, patient history, and reason for the visit.
Assisting the provider with procedures including minor surgical procedures.
Performing injections, phlebotomy services, and CLIA waived laboratory tests.
Responding to patient inquiries and triaging requests for their assigned medical provider, following up on assigned tasks, and communicating with patients as needed; and

Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
