Reporting to the Assistant Director of Simulation, the qualified Dental Assistant will be responsible for managing the Simulation Lab in terms of supply ordering and management, simulation exercise setup and breakdown, dispensing, item tracking, and quality assurance. Hours are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain accurate inventory of dental materials, instruments, consumables, and equipment Perform regular stock checks and reconcile with inventory records Identify low-stock items and initiate reorders in a timely manner Prepare and submit purchase orders for supplies and equipment Liaise with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely deliveries Monitor the condition of dispensary and clinical simulation equipment (e.g., typodonts, dental units, curing lights, handpieces) Coordinate routine maintenance, calibration, and servicing of equipment Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and arrange for repairs when necessary Maintain records of repairs and maintenance logs Set up materials, instruments, and equipment for scheduled lab exercises and practical exams Enforce and monitor compliance with infection control policies and OSHA guidelines Ensure proper disposal of biohazard waste Maintain documentation related to medical emergency cart Assist students and instructors during simulation exercises by dispensing materials and replacing equipment Provide support during practical exams and skill assessments Maintain accurate records of material usage, damaged items, and student requisitions Prepare reports for faculty on supply usage trends, budget needs, or operational concerns Ensure the dispensary and storage areas are clean, organized, and clearly labeled Create and update shelving systems, bins, and signage for efficient retrieval and restocking Support student clinicians and contribute to an efficient productive clinic operation and positive patient experience, when needed Exhibits a professional appearance and demeanor and supports the educational mission of the clinical faculty, including role modeling and the teaching of students on how to function as a dental assistant on the dental team, both in four-handed chairside activities and in clinical operational support, as needed Requirements Certificate of completion of an accredited Dental Assisting Program or at least three years of experience Expanded duty functions preferred Equal Opportunity Employer KCU is committed to promoting an equal employment opportunity workplace.     Pay Range: $16.91 - $28.20 Assist physicians with medical procedures in office. Responsible for phlebotomy, laboratory testing, quality control, instrument troubleshooting, and maintenance. Primary Key Performance Areas: * Responsible for performing proper quality control procedures before proceeding with patient testing. * Perform laboratory blood work. * Perform blood draws Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing. Perform technical laboratory procedures in a timely manner with accuracy and precision, meeting the standards of all accrediting and regulating agencies. * Prepare blood or bone marrow slides for evaluation. * Send outside labs to appropriate facility as dictated by patient's insurance plan. * Maintain test report logs, quality control logs, equipment records, and checklists according to all regulatory agencies. * Will follow the AON patient I.D. policy and procedure with every patient encounter. * Obtain vital signs, height, weight, pain level and PHQ9 depression screening of patient as requested by physician and document in the Onco/EMR system. * Place patient in exam room and prepare for physician in a timely manner. * Receive lab reports via the telephone, lab system, or fax and document in the patient's chart or Onco/EMR for physician's review. * Assist physicians with medical procedures: bone marrows, fine needle aspirate, paracentesis, and pelvic exams. * Schedule outside testing, referrals to other physicians and hospital admissions as ordered by physicians, if applicable. * Documentation: Thorough documentation in medical record chart of testing/treatment rendered to patients. Prepares encounter form to charge patient for services received in office or initials all steps in process in EMR for electronic superbill. Documents all QC and QA corrective action. * Show physician critical blood counts according to guidelines. * Obtain all pertinent scan and CDs and prepare for physician's review. * Maintain adequate inventory of supplies. Place orders with purchasing as needed. * Initiate troubleshooting procedures when instrument malfunction occurs and contact central lab or instrument service company, if necessary. * Perform EKG testing where applicable. * Perform any and all duties required to keep laboratory in compliance with state and federal regulatory agencies. Must be able to perform compliance testing. * Must take the required number of CEUs annually to meet C.O.L.A. requirements. * Observe established safety guidelines and maintains cleanliness of the laboratory and equipment. * Comply with all Federal and State laws and regulations pertaining to patient care, patients' rights, safety, billing, and collections. Adhere to all AON and departmental policies and procedures, including IT policies and procedures and Disaster Recovery Plan. Maintain and ensure the confidentiality of all patient information at all times. * Assist in training new employees to related job duties. * Will be expected to work at any AON location to help meet AON business needs. * Will be expected to work overtime when given sufficient notice of required overtime.
